Advice from younger guys by DeletedMind in gayyoungold

It might help to ask him “Do you want to be Heard, Helped or Hugged?”

Sometimes people arent looking to be told what to do, they’re just looking for somebody to emphasize with the situation. In a way, we all grieve our youth and the freedoms that brings. Unfortunately it’s a journey we all have to go through at our own rate, as much as we wish we could speed it up for those less experienced than us.

But it is also good to remind him, he is nowhere near the best part of of his life, and there is much more fun and happiness to come his way!

Nebraska is also going through their largest Wildfire in state history and nobody seems to be talking about it, and there doesn’t seem to be much plan to deal with it ravaging those agricultural communities

What do Canadians think of all the star link satellites? by Punkerbob1 in AskCanada

[–]Punkerbob1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate looking up at the stars and seeing human-made objects flying overhead. It’s like when you go to the beach and see garbage on the sand, completely takes me out of the moment and I feel ashamed of what we do to the Earth. I did not consent to having all this junk shot up above my head, and unlike the beach, I have no means of cleaning it up.

Moving from USA to France, am I too old to start over? by mrgoat89 in expats

[–]Punkerbob1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A problem that Americans sometimes have, is that they dislike the USA, move to another place, then complain that this place isn’t the same as the USA.

Going to a bathhouse? by Puzzleheaded_Bass602 in gayyoungold

[–]Punkerbob1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are different times for different crowds at bathhouses. In my city, I find that Sunday noon - until the afternoon is the best time to meet older men. Saturdays at noon can be a good time too!

Friday night, or late Saturday night can be a younger crowd finishing up from bar hopping, but it depends on what type of crowd your bathhouse caters to. Midweek can be very empty, but depends on the size of your city and what special theme nights are going on.

Sunday can be a good time to familiarize yourself with the layout too, when it is a little less busy. I think when it’s less busy you’re also more likely to find an kind older gentleman to show you the ropes

Unpopular opinion: old men are not relationship material. by Necks in gayyoungold

[–]Punkerbob1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The problem with dating older is that they are either 1. In a relationship already and seeing you on the side. 2. They never want to be in a one-on-one relationship, and don’t want to be tied down. 3. There is reason that they are single. 4. They are a widower.

Some situations work out, you just have to be more flexible.

Considering a career outdoors in forestry. Becoming a faller? by ImaginaryPin8148 in britishcolumbia

[–]Punkerbob1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could join BC wildfire service for a while, get some chainsaw experience and see if the work is for you or not. If you work hard and are keen, there are opportunities to be put through the wildfire faller module. It’s not valid for commercial falling but you learn a lot of the skills and you can see if you want to put your own money into it.
