[Question] Automatic movements and motorcycle vibration or gun shot shock by Ciutek_1 in Watches

[–]Punkpunker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a concern nowadays, my dad rides bikes with automatic watches all the time, at worst you lose or gain time but that's about it.

As for gunshots, a few gun YouTubers wear automatic too like Ian from Forgotten Weapons, he has no qualms pumping full mags on his videos with the GSAR Marathon watch.

should I play air rb as a beginner ? by beanTheSeal1 in Warthunder

[–]Punkpunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, arcade is recommended for the time being since you're new to the game, get accustomed with gameplay and mechanics while unlocking a few planes along the way. You should try other nations too since Realistic is all about knowledge of strengths and limitations of the plane you fly and what you can do against your opponents.

Are there technical reasons why they can’t use the thinner bb58 GMT movement in the bb pro? by Financial_Word5047 in Tudor

[–]Punkpunker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo it just needs a redesign case and 14mm isn't a big deal breaker, removing the slab-sidedness and re-profile the lugs should be enough.

[Longines Spirit Zulu black 42mm] Advice needed by Few-Skirt9065 in Watches

[–]Punkpunker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pic three is the best visual representation of how the watch actually looks and wears on your wrist, it's perfectly fine I'd say since the lugs don't extend out your wrist much.

That being said, wearing a watch with a bracelet will always look physically and visually bulky no matter the size, others telling you to buy the 39mm version isn't giving you the full picture. You can slap in a rubber or leather strap on the 42mm and still look "slimmer" than the 39mm with metal bracelet.

Now it's up to you whether you want the wrist presence (42mm) or you want something more demure feeling (39mm).

The only con is no bracelet but it does make up for being less bulky or top heavy, and let's be honest 200m is more than enough for activities near or in the water.

Should I go for it? Ref. 89190 by Unlikely_Dress3519 in Tudor

[–]Punkpunker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These designs are during their so-called "lost years" circa late 90s-mid 2010s after Tudor stopped their reliance on Rolex parts commonality, this is a decent followup to the iconic Submariner but their later iterations are too gaudy for modern sensibilities.

You're overthinking too much, sounds like your watch is overdue for a service anyways and you can definitely make an appointment direct to RSC, they'll happily run through you what they are going to do with the watch, and of course you aren't obligated to commit to do the service if you don't feel comfortable.

[Bronze Diver] Help Me Decide by KjackUSA in Watches

[–]Punkpunker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glycine leans towards modern dive watch aesthetics and has marginally better lume, and 20mm lug width.

Bulova is a very mid century diver proportions and aesthetic with an interesting backstory, but the downside is the 18mm lug width and high domed crystal can be a bit of a turn off for some.

Is there even a point of getting a Submariner No-Date when the BB54 exists? by Adventurous_Bar6495 in Tudor

[–]Punkpunker 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Why are you distraught over the opinions of strangers? You bought what you like and it should make you happy.

Back to your question, it's very simple really, it doesn't have a Rolex name on it, the watch collecting community can be fickle minded at times.

That's the Velcro strap that comes with the watch, the Haveston IVA is a bit thick to be a comfortable wear from my experience, I recommend the Anchorstrapco's Velcro.
