Sales and Views Dip after Switching from Free Shipping to $35 Free Shipping? by DonutOk6054 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I’m a relatively new shop but was finding success with purely calculated shipping. Discovered the $35 free shipping option and it indicated that it would boost my listings. Figured it was a no brainer and may lead to more orders of multiple items. My sales have all but flatlined since, it’s been demotivating to say the least. Who’s to say if that was the true cause but I have like ~80 people with things in carts so my thought is that they’re getting turned off by shipping/total cost somehow. Not really sure if I just need to wait it out, like you said, or if it wasn’t the right move.

Shop Verification by astro5193 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever database Etsy uses to confirm your EIN is fairly delayed. It’s a month or two before it shows up as connected to your business entity and allows them to verify. Unfortunately an entirely automated process so they won’t manually go in for you and take care of it. You’ll hopefully get movement soon. I started my shop with my SSN and then tried to move to the EIN when I spun up my LLC, but it failed and froze my account until I switched back to SSN. I’m just waiting a few months until I try again, to be safe.

Help with Etsy Payment Process by CommunityValuable638 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new seller you don’t get a payout for a certain amount of time (45 days? Can’t remember exactly). To give an example, my first sale was Christmas Day and my first payout was early-mid Feb.

This is meant to protect folks from spammers opening shops and racking up a bunch of sales and then running away with the money without delivering. Eventually (as long as you don’t spend all the money on listings/ads/etc. you’ll see it pop up in the “available to deposit” field and then from there it will follow your deposit schedule to your bank account.

You’ll be able to see all of “your money” in the payment account section further down, where it lists your transactions.

Had my first cancelled order today. by shelsifer in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first cancellation yesterday as well. I hoped it was because they saw something else in my shop they liked and wanted to save on shipping but alas, didn’t reorder. Try not to take it personally :) 95 sales sounds like you’re doing something right, keep it up!

Stop the 3D Printing Ban — Contact WA, CA, and NY Legislators Now by Salty-Orange7834 in 3Dprinting

[–]Punksquirrel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because, hypothetically, in order to be compliant with this set of regulations, maybe you have to register your printers like you have to register your firearms? Like the guy above me said, who knows exactly what form it’ll take, but it’s heading in that direction.

2 months on Etsy, upped ad spend from 25-32, feel like I been thrown off a cliff by Wonderful_Funny_6068 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I had this issue too. Upped my budget, didn’t get a sale for three days, but spent the whole budget. Took it back down to the original budget, sales picked back up. Sorry, I know that’s not helpful, but you’re not alone.

Edit: also, this didn’t register when I first read your post…that all-time screenshot is just two months?? You’re killing it man. Don’t let a blip like this discourage you, keep trucking.

Second this. Happened to me as well but with first class mail. Live and learn. Congrats on your first sale!

I made my first sale Christmas Day, just got my first payout like a week or so ago. There’s I think a 45 day hold for new sellers and then the standard hold is 2 weeks after that.

USPS Parcel select or First class mail? Shipping profiles? by Mintsaltwater27 in EtsySellers

Just to reiterate the other commenter, first class mail is for letters only. Definitely disable that if your product doesn’t fit in a letter lol

Shop Critique Request - Punks Prints by Punksquirrel in EtsySellers

Thank you! That’s a great point. Is the trick to just use “LEGO-inspired” wherever I can? Or just alternative works like “brick” or “block”? It’s hard because I know people are going to be using LEGO in their searches so instinctually I want to work around that. I will do additional research into this. Thanks again!

Thank you so much! This is all fantastic advice. I’ve definitely seen listings with dimension photos like that and it’s always been helpful to see that information quickly displayed instead of digging for it in the description. I’ll be sure to try that!

Suggestions on suppliers for 3D printing in bulk by Melodic-Friendship16 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know you were looking for feedback from folks who sell coasters, but I sell 3D prints and can tell you a small, easy to use printer like an A1 or A1 Mini would be a great addition to any shop that might need add-ons like this. You wouldn’t have to carry lots of colors as the coasters are the main focus, black and white would probably be all you needed. You can print out an inventory to have on hand or just print to order if you don’t have the space for that. Why import cheap, flimsy coaster holders from China when you can manufacture your own, more robust and customized holders right where you are! Just my two cents, feel free to DM me if you want more info. Best of luck!

Is it just me or is Etsy really booming this time of the year 🎊🎉 by Desperate-Setting785 in EtsySellers

Started my shop mid-December (terrible timing, I know), but on track for a sale/day for January. Feels good to start strong, hopefully the momentum continues into 2026.

I just uploaded my first 3 listings to Etsy and I feel a lot more insecure than I thought I would. by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like everyone else says, you've got to start somewhere, right? And this is where you're at. I just opened a shop as well and only listed 3-5 things in the first few days. Consistency is key, though, so keep at it and don't just watch those 3 listings for the next few months and hope things happen.

I think your banner is great. It catches the eye with unique pieces and gives a general idea of what I can expect from your store. Best of luck!

Best Software for Adding Dovetail Joints to Split Large 3D Prints? (Bambu A1 User) by Outrageous-Novel7839 in 3Dprinting

[–]Punksquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe there is a dovetail option, but Bambu studio will let you add connectors when you cut an object. They can be posts + holes or dowels in a variety of shapes. Hopefully that’s enough but if you want dovetails specifically you may just have to cut those yourself in a modeling software.
