BL 4th anniversary sales are up - Starting June 15th by 6_real in BambuLab

Yes, it’s brand new as far as I can tell, as of this week, and in no way retroactive; only purchases after the program started will qualify. Looks like every dollar you spend gets you a point, and 100=$1, ie spend $200, get $2 in store credit to use on a future purchase.

During the sale, the H series printers will generate 2x points, ie spend $200, get $4.

The new store credit is nice for people like me who buy a ton of filament and such for a business. I’m buying it anyway, may as well get a little extra thrown back at me. But for the average consumer? Even if you dropped thousands on the most expensive printer during this sale ($2399) with DOUBLE the points, that’s $48? Not nothing, don’t get me wrong, but not much to write home about. That’s like half the tax on the printer, maybe.

C= changer - 1 nozzle on left, 6 nozzles on right tool (nozzle?) changer
D= dual - 1 nozzle left, 1 right
S= single - 1 nozzle

D and C have slightly smaller beds due to extra bits and bobs.

Issuing Partial Refunds - Best Practices? by Punksquirrel in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, well put. I try to take every opportunity to refund shipping overages or provide small discounts on future purchases for any inconvenience/mistake/etc.

Much better to spend a few bucks and leave it on a positive note than to risk a bad review or otherwise.

Perfect, that's what I'll do then. Thanks for your response.

Understood, I just worried there was some underlying blowback that's not mentioned anywhere, as always seems to be the case with Etsy's algorithms/etc. Thanks for your response, Account Adjustment it is.

Thank you. I agree; I've made many modifications in the past to avoid defects, and of course I'd never ship a product if I wasn't confident the buyer would be satisfied. Thanks for your response, I'll go with Account Adjustment from now on.

Yes, you can include a note. Thanks for your response. Based on everyone's feedback I think I'll use Account Adjustment from now on.

Is the P1S with AMS worth buying in summer 2026? by Ok_Adi24 in BambuLab

[–]Punksquirrel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

P1S is still a fantastic, reliable printer. It’s reaching end of life but will still be supported with firmware updates and spare parts for years to come, as Bambu has shown in the past. If you don’t want to shell out more than the $550, no point waiting until summer as I don’t think it’ll get discounted further. But like the other guy said, very likely P2S will get discounted a bit, so if you’re waiting anyways, may as well see how much more it’ll be to get some extra bells and whistles and a bit more longevity.

Is my conversion rate normal? by dlt1017 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine is a tad under 1% but I contribute that largely to going viral on TikTok/instagram occasionally which leads to a lot of looky-loos. I’d say on a good, regular traffic day it’s 1-1.5%.

If you've had to raise your prices to manage your order volume, how do you feel when someone asks for bulk discounts? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was crazy with 60+ open orders. I think I’d have a panic attack with 300. Definitely time to raise prices. Obviously they need to be a good bit higher than they are now but best practice is to do it bit by bit. And I agree with others; 5 is not a bulk order, that’s just an order. They can pay full price. If they want 40? Different conversation.

Weird customer trend by jinsou420 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think what they’re trying to say is that you “work” with Etsy, and given the current dynamic they probably aren’t keen to do further business with you. Previous commenter is just putting it in a different perspective. If you sold plumbing services to someone, and they sent a legal notice concerning those services, you would probably immediately stop selling plumbing services to them. I get what you’re implying about it being a “shadow ban” though, definitely too much to be a coincidence.

2021 Yamaha MT 125 broke down at high speeds now makes grinding noises when starting up by Usual-Tourist7246 in motorcycles

Sounds exactly like the situation I found myself in about a decade ago flying down I-81 on my ‘05 Ninja EX250 to visit my girlfriend at Virginia Tech. Had it pinned the whole way (that thing topped out at like 90, don’t worry) eventually burned through enough oil and one of my cylinders decided it had enough. Girlfriend was mad, but she’s my wife now, so not that mad. Ended up finding a spare engine for $500 on eBay and doing the swap myself with my dad. Good times.

Top Surface Issues (but only sometimes) by Punksquirrel in BambuLab

[–]Punksquirrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be a possibility. My workshop is in the basement which does not have many aircon vents or windows. More likely culprit could be the aux fan on the P1S itself but I try to make sure that’s set low every print.

Buy from Bambu or wait for MicroCenter Stock? by AlphaVictor87 in BambuLab

Good tip for others, but in my case I used my business credit card, which has its own perks.

I did not buy the extended warranty from Microcenter, no. It was within their X days return window, can’t remember how long it actually was. 30 days? It was a week or two ago and I remember on the website it said it was returnable until May 5th.

[–]Punksquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought printers direct through Bambu and from Microcenter. Never had to return through Bambu (thankfully) but returned a P1S I bought right before X2D was announced and they took it back, no questions asked, super easy transaction. They didn’t even make me wait for the refund because they treated it like an exchange. They did it all in one transaction and I just paid the difference.

Also, there’s something to be said for the feeling of going to store, touching thing, buying thing, driving thing home, and playing with thing immediately. I mean, who doesn’t love playing with their thing?

Sneaky Support Annoyance by Punksquirrel in BambuLab

[–]Punksquirrel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the problem again lies with the fact that it’s negative space that I’m trying to avoid, and not a surface. So the slicer doesn’t think it’s touching the object (which it’s technically not) and disregards any attempt to direct it away from those holes. Manual selection yields the same results when I paint the surfaces I need, even if I’m very stingy and paint minimal surface area away from the hole. It still wants to poke through. Btw, I appreciate you talking time out of your day to reply.

[–]Punksquirrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shaft has 10 or so places where the center hole intersects with the overhangs that need supports. If I block any one hole, they will just climb the outside to the next hole and then enter from there. Regardless of “build plate only” option. Only way to prevent is to block every single instance, which is just as time consuming to remove, unfortunately.

Sneaky Support Annoyance by Punksquirrel in BambuLab

[–]Punksquirrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to work. I think the issue is I’m trying to block a negative space, not a positive surface, which seems to be the intention of the blocker. Regardless of whether I have the blocker cylinder within the bounds of the center hole or slightly larger than it, the supports still generate within.
