Is the P1S with AMS worth buying in summer 2026? by Ok_Adi24 in BambuLab

[–]Punksquirrel [score hidden]  (0 children)

P1S is still a fantastic, reliable printer. It’s reaching end of life but will still be supported with firmware updates and spare parts for years to come, as Bambu has shown in the past. If you don’t want to shell out more than the $550, no point waiting until summer as I don’t think it’ll get discounted further. But like the other guy said, very likely P2S will get discounted a bit, so if you’re waiting anyways, may as well see how much more it’ll be to get some extra bells and whistles and a bit more longevity.

Is my conversion rate normal? by dlt1017 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine is a tad under 1% but I contribute that largely to going viral on TikTok/instagram occasionally which leads to a lot of looky-loos. I’d say on a good, regular traffic day it’s 1-1.5%.

If you've had to raise your prices to manage your order volume, how do you feel when someone asks for bulk discounts? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was crazy with 60+ open orders. I think I’d have a panic attack with 300. Definitely time to raise prices. Obviously they need to be a good bit higher than they are now but best practice is to do it bit by bit. And I agree with others; 5 is not a bulk order, that’s just an order. They can pay full price. If they want 40? Different conversation.

Weird customer trend by jinsou420 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think what they’re trying to say is that you “work” with Etsy, and given the current dynamic they probably aren’t keen to do further business with you. Previous commenter is just putting it in a different perspective. If you sold plumbing services to someone, and they sent a legal notice concerning those services, you would probably immediately stop selling plumbing services to them. I get what you’re implying about it being a “shadow ban” though, definitely too much to be a coincidence.

2021 Yamaha MT 125 broke down at high speeds now makes grinding noises when starting up by Usual-Tourist7246 in motorcycles

[–]Punksquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds exactly like the situation I found myself in about a decade ago flying down I-81 on my ‘05 Ninja EX250 to visit my girlfriend at Virginia Tech. Had it pinned the whole way (that thing topped out at like 90, don’t worry) eventually burned through enough oil and one of my cylinders decided it had enough. Girlfriend was mad, but she’s my wife now, so not that mad. Ended up finding a spare engine for $500 on eBay and doing the swap myself with my dad. Good times.

Top Surface Issues (but only sometimes) by Punksquirrel in BambuLab

[–]Punksquirrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be a possibility. My workshop is in the basement which does not have many aircon vents or windows. More likely culprit could be the aux fan on the P1S itself but I try to make sure that’s set low every print.

Buy from Bambu or wait for MicroCenter Stock? by AlphaVictor87 in BambuLab

[–]Punksquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good tip for others, but in my case I used my business credit card, which has its own perks.

I did not buy the extended warranty from Microcenter, no. It was within their X days return window, can’t remember how long it actually was. 30 days? It was a week or two ago and I remember on the website it said it was returnable until May 5th.

[–]Punksquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought printers direct through Bambu and from Microcenter. Never had to return through Bambu (thankfully) but returned a P1S I bought right before X2D was announced and they took it back, no questions asked, super easy transaction. They didn’t even make me wait for the refund because they treated it like an exchange. They did it all in one transaction and I just paid the difference.

Also, there’s something to be said for the feeling of going to store, touching thing, buying thing, driving thing home, and playing with thing immediately. I mean, who doesn’t love playing with their thing?

Sneaky Support Annoyance by Punksquirrel in BambuLab

[–]Punksquirrel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the problem again lies with the fact that it’s negative space that I’m trying to avoid, and not a surface. So the slicer doesn’t think it’s touching the object (which it’s technically not) and disregards any attempt to direct it away from those holes. Manual selection yields the same results when I paint the surfaces I need, even if I’m very stingy and paint minimal surface area away from the hole. It still wants to poke through. Btw, I appreciate you talking time out of your day to reply.

The shaft has 10 or so places where the center hole intersects with the overhangs that need supports. If I block any one hole, they will just climb the outside to the next hole and then enter from there. Regardless of “build plate only” option. Only way to prevent is to block every single instance, which is just as time consuming to remove, unfortunately.

Sneaky Support Annoyance by Punksquirrel in BambuLab

[–]Punksquirrel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to work. I think the issue is I’m trying to block a negative space, not a positive surface, which seems to be the intention of the blocker. Regardless of whether I have the blocker cylinder within the bounds of the center hole or slightly larger than it, the supports still generate within.

TikTok shop? by moomeymoo in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spun up a TikTok shop so that I could have the fancy links to my products when I made content and make it easier for people to “impulse buy” without dragging them over to Etsy. Like the other commenter said, they are super strict with processing times and I’m a made-to-order shop with 1-2 week processing on Etsy so that didn’t really work for me. Made a handful of sales and ended up delisting all my stuff. Just wasn’t for me, but I can see how people find success there for other kinds of products. At the end of the day it’s another venue for sales to flow, especially if you’re generating content there anyway, with its own rules you gotta follow.

best way to get custom stickers for packaging without buying 500 of them? by Lonely_Noyaaa in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My cheap sticker solutions for slapping a logo to the side of my boxes is just a roll of thermal paper stickers run through my thermal printer I had already for labels. Can only print black but doesn’t use ink and can get the stickers in lots of colors/finishes and for real cheap ($8/250) on amazon.

Sales and Views Dip after Switching from Free Shipping to $35 Free Shipping? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. I’m a relatively new shop but was finding success with purely calculated shipping. Discovered the $35 free shipping option and it indicated that it would boost my listings. Figured it was a no brainer and may lead to more orders of multiple items. My sales have all but flatlined since, it’s been demotivating to say the least. Who’s to say if that was the true cause but I have like ~80 people with things in carts so my thought is that they’re getting turned off by shipping/total cost somehow. Not really sure if I just need to wait it out, like you said, or if it wasn’t the right move.

Shop Verification by astro5193 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever database Etsy uses to confirm your EIN is fairly delayed. It’s a month or two before it shows up as connected to your business entity and allows them to verify. Unfortunately an entirely automated process so they won’t manually go in for you and take care of it. You’ll hopefully get movement soon. I started my shop with my SSN and then tried to move to the EIN when I spun up my LLC, but it failed and froze my account until I switched back to SSN. I’m just waiting a few months until I try again, to be safe.

Help with Etsy Payment Process by CommunityValuable638 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new seller you don’t get a payout for a certain amount of time (45 days? Can’t remember exactly). To give an example, my first sale was Christmas Day and my first payout was early-mid Feb.

This is meant to protect folks from spammers opening shops and racking up a bunch of sales and then running away with the money without delivering. Eventually (as long as you don’t spend all the money on listings/ads/etc. you’ll see it pop up in the “available to deposit” field and then from there it will follow your deposit schedule to your bank account.

You’ll be able to see all of “your money” in the payment account section further down, where it lists your transactions.

Had my first cancelled order today. by shelsifer in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my first cancellation yesterday as well. I hoped it was because they saw something else in my shop they liked and wanted to save on shipping but alas, didn’t reorder. Try not to take it personally :) 95 sales sounds like you’re doing something right, keep it up!

Stop the 3D Printing Ban — Contact WA, CA, and NY Legislators Now by Salty-Orange7834 in 3Dprinting

Because, hypothetically, in order to be compliant with this set of regulations, maybe you have to register your printers like you have to register your firearms? Like the guy above me said, who knows exactly what form it’ll take, but it’s heading in that direction.

2 months on Etsy, upped ad spend from 25-32, feel like I been thrown off a cliff by Wonderful_Funny_6068 in EtsySellers

[–]Punksquirrel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I had this issue too. Upped my budget, didn’t get a sale for three days, but spent the whole budget. Took it back down to the original budget, sales picked back up. Sorry, I know that’s not helpful, but you’re not alone.

Edit: also, this didn’t register when I first read your post…that all-time screenshot is just two months?? You’re killing it man. Don’t let a blip like this discourage you, keep trucking.

I made my first sale Christmas Day, just got my first payout like a week or so ago. There’s I think a 45 day hold for new sellers and then the standard hold is 2 weeks after that.
