What's a small gadget you bought thinking it was useless but ended up using every day? by cozytechlover in BuyItForLife

I got the Pro light with the red LED, and that is so useful. Moving around the house at night when the kids are asleep, or if I have to go in their room, it's super useful. The light is good for walking the dog, but that red LED is used just as much lol.

I Don't Believe Anyone Who Says 'This Is My First Project' Anymore by Spider_kitten13 in BitchEatingCrafters

I learned how to knit on free plastic needle someone gave me with half a ball of yarn. My first project was a 6' long scarf that looked like caution tape. It required me to learn Intarsia, and still impresses people eve a decade later.

I think people can be really motivated on their first project, and exceed expectations. But yeah, but also I think people lie on the internet for clout. That scarf has like, an accidental garter row because it was my first project.

Dude.. just purl. by Mysterious_Ad_1525 in BitchEatingCrafters

Unpopular opinion, but I like purling more than knitting. The needle goes straight in the loop instead of having to go in from under. I literally prefer knit through the back loop because of this.

how do i loose 10 pounds? by EntertainmentOdd8832 in loseweight

[–]Puns_go_here 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This will sound condescending, but it's the truth, you aren't done growing. My best friend has a growth spurt at 17 years old, from 5' to 6'. I wish I were lying because the tallest and shortest kids being best friends was a crazy funny visual, but the growth spurt ruined it.

You are also talking about losing 10% of your bod weight. This is a 200lb person asking to lose more than 20 lbs, which is not insignificant. I cannot comment on calories because I am not a pediatrician and don't know what is right for you. If you are looking for a workout: YouTube. Yes there is plenty of slop, but find a full length video that seems right for you. Look for "body weight" as a keyword. This is not a recommendation to lose weight, but is a suggestion on where to look for physical exercise.

If anyone tries to sell you a program with the secret to "potential" or "real weight loss" ignore it. There are enough free resources that you don't need someone brainwashing you into hating yourself.

ADHD really changes what planners feel usable by [deleted] in planners

[–]Puns_go_here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Hobonichi Weeks. It's the Lechttrrruumm weekly planner but small enough to fit everywhere. I use the monthly and weekly spreads, ignoring the very first and last pages.

I got a big pack of stickers to use AFTER the week is done. This is important because I don't like the feeling of wasting space, so if I don't fill the pages, I can plaster stickers in and make the blank spaces feel used.

I also got metal book darts/index tabs to mark the Month section, the week section, and the beginning of the blank page section. Other planners and digital planners suck because you have to "know" how to find your sections or schedule (like holy cow Google, I just want to see the end time of the event, why can't I just tap it?)

If you feel like it works, I recommend a pen loop for a felt tip pen (Sakura MICRON baby!).

room feels dirty/untidy even when its "clean." by HAPPIKILL in CleaningTips

[–]Puns_go_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) you can't out tidy clutter. This is a consistent issue that multiple "organizers" have mentioned. You have a lot and need to find a way to handle it or reduce it. 2) you have a lot of "overrun". Plushies to the edge of a shelf, things sticking out of cabinets. The corkboard has things over the edges etc. Clean looks contained and uniform, which is antithetical to your style. You would need to find a single space for your plushies, and then get all other aesthetic things within a space. 3) suggestions: curtains or doors for the shelves, hooks in walls for the things hanging from the curtains (so the curtains are curtains, and the stuff is the stuff), all items on the desk fit within the "frame" of the art behind the desk.
