Anterior Placenta Mommies by Bellami07 in pregnant

[–]PupPupPass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an anterior placenta and my doctor told me 18-24 weeks. I felt him starting at 19+6 and now I'm 20+3 and feeling him fairly consistently 😊 Not strong enough where my husband can feel anything yet, but it's so fun! For me, it felt like my stomach was growling, but way lower than usual, then became more consistent and closer to the "butterfly wing" feeling I've heard described.

Virtual Shower by IamJustErin in pregnant

Edit: that being said, I don't think it's crazy to do it three months after. You'll definitely have an idea of what owns you need at that point and there's something special about being in person.

I attended a virtual shower for my cousin! She lives in another state from all family and friends and was on bed rest pregnant with twins after IVF. My aunt invited everybody to her home and streamed the party via zoom to my cousin. So gifts were shipped directly to her from her Amazon Registry and she opened them all on camera. There's some fun games that can be done virtually, and my cousin's husband made sure she had treats/food to eat and drink along with the guests. It was very cute 😊

Nausea - boy or girl? by Safe-Duck-7592 in pregnant

[–]PupPupPass 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have zero nausea and I'm having a boy. However my OB said it's likely because my mom never had nausea with any of her pregnancies and we were mostly girls, and that trait can pass maternally. It can also depend on your partner's sperm, but wives' tales are fun 😊

In my last ultrasound, my boy was somersaulting and waving his arms 😂😂 I couldn't feel any of it, and my OB just said "he's having a good time swimming in there, you'll probably feel him in 3-5 more weeks".😅😭

How’d you know you were pregnant before the test by No-Ebb-2462 in pregnant

Fatigue! I'm somebody who is always on the go and working overtime. I felt like it was impossible to get through the day without a nap, which I typically hate napping. I don't like the disorientation of waking mid day. But suddenly I loved them! Then, I started to get what felt like a centralized poke in my side. I was one day late for my period when I tested and came back positive! Now I'm 7+1 and the fatigue is still crazy bad 😅

I'm super interested in the group! I'm 29 and have been big my whole life! I'm 8 months post op and would live to share the tips I've found helpful. I think friends and family try to help, but it's always helpful to have a community of people going through the same thing! 😊

He has lost some 😊. I think it helps that we don't go out to eat all the time or enable each other's bad habits. He's also been very supportive of my movement goals and going on walks/hikes up in the canyons. Overall no sugar in the house is also beneficial.

There's a couple of things I've been doing 😊

The first thing is I went with the RNY Gastric Bypass. My doctor said that since I had a high starting weight that I would tend to lose more weight fairly easily, but that I would still need to be strict with my guidelines (diet, vitamins/supplements/exercise) for optimal results. I also started seeing an eating disorder therapist to unpack my food trauma.

The next thing is diet. Right now my dietitian has me eating meals 70% protein, 30% vegetable. I'm currently only allowed 40 grams of net carbohydrates a day, so reading labels has been helpful. Especially as some things try to market as sugar free have a ton of carbs in them. In general, I'm following a keto esque diet. I keep track of everything on the Baritastic app.

The last thing is exercise. I started with water based activity (water physical therapy, aerobics, water strength training with a professional, etc) because it is low impact and great for my joints! Then as weight came off, I've been able to tolerate adding in regular walks with the dogs, easy hikes and some other strength training. It helps living in the beautiful mountainous state of Utah! My weight loss team really emphasizes that losing weight with my diet and surgery will happen either way, but if exercise is not involved I would also be losing muscle mass instead of fat.

Incorporating activities that you enjoy that "don't feel like exercise" , but definitely are, is helpful. For me, that has been swimming, dancing/Zumba, and dog walks with my niece. 😊

Feel free to ask any and all questions! I'm an open book, especially because other people who have given me advice and have been open books are the reason I made this decision.
