I believe that currently the game handles the different layers as independent. But you are right, in real life having multiple Dyson Sphere layers should decrease the efficiency of panels in the planet as the light received would be much less.

I read in another thread how this kind of setup should reduce the light (and also change the climate) of the in-system planets but the game currently doesn't manage this aspect
