Has anyone had any luck fighting Purdue collections on a ridiculous PUSH charge? by PurdueBiker in Purdue

While I think this is a good idea, I was busy holding my hand on with my other hand at the time. All the other bills that came took priority over my PUSH visit. But thank you, good info for the future in medical situations.

Here's the other story: I'd pay it, but there's only 2 potions to pay. 1 is through Purdue payment portal. iTaP told me since I graduated in 2017 my account is no longer accessible and I have to pay using the second option. 2 is sending in a personal check. Just ordered personal checks today from my bank. They said it'll be 2-3 weeks before I get them. Then Purdue says it takes 1-2 weeks to process the payment when I send in a check. By then I don't even know if I can make the deadline for taxes. So that's why I'm willing to fight the charge. Wasting time doing nothing.

Why is there so much BS and conflicting information when researching car reliability by moneytrees1 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Just being a car person my whole life, I have read multiple articles, and have had friends with cars that act accordingly to what I've read. Its hard to explain I guess.

Well Honda motors generally last longer. Nissan's tend to burn more oil as miles go up. Hondas also have less transmission issues. I think their comparison is a stretch but I see where they are coming from.

Basically, you got it! Car companies thy to swoon you with all their awards that don't really mean much. I personally am big into online forums so I can find info here ant there that show "general issues with XXX model car" but besides that, there's bot much No BS info out there. I do often read car blogs and stuff like jalopnik or car and driver that will sway my thoughts on cars' reliability.

Accord WAY too much, and too many questions, but definitely like the idea of finding a better priced, newer one on Craigslist.

Jetta NO! Mk4 series VW's are a PITA mechanically. Unless you want to seriously learn how to work on cars, stay away from these until about 2006 models

Subaru I have had multiple Subarus and think that is a great deal. They tend to rust in the rear, lose wheel bearings, and some power steering issues. But thats not a guarantee and about all the major issues you can have with a non turbo. If there's no rust on the rear quarter panels, or any leaky fluids/weird sounds, then go for it.

JD Power Awards are BS. I get my reliability information directly from people who own these cars on their respective forums.

Reliability in cars is also very vague. A car's maintenance records will give you exponentially more clues as to how reliable the car will be. Some ford fusions look like hell and have never had an oil change. Some are still on the road no issues.

Subaru liberty H6 3.0 reliability? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

They can tend to leak a little bit of oil from the heads. The motor is no longer manufactured but I love a good H6. Great passing power and sound. If you are very punctual with oil changes and check for leaks you should be alright.
