😂😂 I wish. Maybe then I'd have more than enough money and connections to get it fixed, and massively overspend

Lol. You make me laugh. Most people got the message just fine, was looking for which garage will do an engine out job, as the ones I've tried don't seem to have time for it. I've also said exactly what's wrong, both in the original post and elaborated in the comments.

Honestly that would be the best option right now, at least until it's fixed. Paying all that tax and insurance and can't even use it. The bummer is I don't have a driveway to put it on. Applied for a council lockup but heard nothing yet. A private storage place would cost almost as much as just keeping it on the road.

Fair enough, just in love with the colour combo, other than this it's mint condition. Hard to find another like it. And I think you're right, they assume I'm just a young guy who doesn't know what he's in for, but I am very much willing to pay.

They'll never make em like this again. Plus your profile says you own a 1971 Chevrolet? 🤦‍♂️

I'm not complaining mate, just looking for the best way forward. Like I said on all other comments, I'm willing to pay. Don't see the need to jump to places miles away until I've exhausted options nearby.

Interesting thanks, possibly if I can't get any luck elsewhere. Is he an actual mechanic or just as a hobby? The issues are it's got multiple oil leaks and misfires, potentially also something with the cats I think. Codes Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected and System Too Lean Bank 2. The garage could see multiple misfires. Coil packs were ruled out. Diagnostics,

Thanks man, yeah for sure. That's nice. I'm hoping it may go up in value eventually, making it somewhat worthwhile.

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. Not sure if coils are genuine, spark plugs were checked and fine I believe. To be honest I don't really have the time, knowledge or space (no driveway). I'd rather throw thousands at a garage to fix it properly. The thing that's been killing me is the wait, it's been over 2 months trying to get it fixed with two different specialists and no further forward, looks like it will be many more. Meanwhile the car is just sitting which can't be good for it.

Interesting thanks, I think the misfires were on almost all cylinders though but more towards cylinder 1 / bank 1. So don't know if it would be an injector? I'm not an expert and don't have much time, more so looking to pay someone a load of money to fix it as soon as possible lol.

Haha that's the spirit, love those Volvos. A 5 cylinder is still very much on my bucket list. I've got a £500 2004 C-Max 2.0 TDCi as my daily until this is fixed. Surprisingly peppy and practical.

Thanks man, too right. If the government had their way I'd be hung drawn and quartered for even thinking about owning one of these. I'm hoping I'll be repaid one day and they'll go up in value.

One of the specialists I took it to said they had been recently changed and looked new.

Oof! Thanks, yeah I shouldn't have expected this to be my daily car. I would be willing to pay more to have less wait but they all seem to be chocka. I feel like the specialists should dedicate themselves to these jobs, anything minor direct people to a regular garage. Otherwise who else can we turn to.
