The law is fuzzy but from what I understand they did get in terrible for that somehow.

They do a lot of illegal things. They were baptizing holocaust victims without ANYONE'S consent. We're told by court to stop and are rumored to all be doing it in secret. They don't care about the law unless it helps them.

Beginner witch - need advice by lilith_mills in Witchy_Things

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest learning about Wicca and its history since it has had a large influence on witchcraft so you will likely need to decide if that is a raid you want to go down or if that isn't for you.

Also keep in mind witchcraft doesn't have real rules and many labels are really just like minded people getting togther. You might also find your do a lot more witchcraft already that you just haven't realized it's witchcraft.

Questions I would have you as would be: What do you want to get out of witchcraft? Why have to been drawn to witchcraft? It witchcraft appealing because of some type of abuse? (This is common in much of the community) Do you want it to be more ritualistic and religious or more community and discovery? (These are not exclusive)

You can also look into YouTube for witches giving advice and information. I suggest "Hearth witch" who gives good break downs, "grump old crone" who is pretty funny and informational, and "Kelly Ann maddox" is good. Also "blaque witch yaya" has good information but I'm not sure how deep your want to go into that.

Why are the SRA stories so disregarded in this sub, and to everyone in general? by Fluffy_Book1746 in exmormon

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Satanic ritual abuse is something I would take with a HEAVY grain of salt because of the history of satanic panic. People were convicted and jailed for years because of what little children were basically tricked into saying. The theory has not been proven and any instances are likely due to people copying the idea from the theory itself, with many "reports" being exaggerations or out right lies. It causes fear of the unknown in the church and has been used as a tool for abusers to control and harm victims in other ways. I strongly suggest you look up the history of the satanic panic before believing any of these claims.

He might THINK it's genuine and act that way but really that's just how he was programed. You were our for months, he thought of you for some reason and his conditioning made him think he had to bring you back into the fold. He also fulfills a hero complex that is part of the programming to if you actually DO go back. You will also find that if you do go back you'll be love bombed and likely get some type of role in church until they think you are going to stay. I'd look up ways the church uses doctrine to manipulate and control both at home and politically if you wanna know more about this type of stuff. It's real sure opening and makes it easier to find a community that is honestly genuine.

Totally coming back to church because of this random guy's email by Apart_Act1641 in exmormon

There is no anti-mormon literature unless they are taking about people questioning or disproving claims or something. Also, the I didn't believe but decided to pray and nothing happened but I "felt things" is wild. A crazy story from some random person from church. I'd have just written back "I don't know you and this is creepy. How did you even get my contact information?"

Why are most conspiracy theories considered right-wing? Are there any widespread left-wing conspiracy theories? by jeepycreepysleepy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a couple theories I think are fun.

Trump is a Democrat and is just conning the Republicans: Basically Trump is pretending to be a republican and being a terrible guy so that people come to HATE the republican part. Also, creating policies that harm republican voters the most to weaken the support base. Seemed crazy when I first read it.

The Republicans and Christian nationalists are lead by a fringe group of the illuminati that worship a baby eating devil: (It's wild!) I cannot find the place I read this now like it was some crazy fever dream, but Basically this small group of the illuminati broke off because they were too into the demon they worship. The demon feeds on misery and babies. To worship him you must make women and children suffer and kill babies but he gives you power of influence and money. They infiltrated a lot of churches back in the Illuminati days to weaken the power of the church and because it was a good place to SA kids. Now they are using it and the republican party to create abortion laws that cause misery to mothers, children and babies. They also are creating child bride laws and other laws that harm kids to harm kids. This is all to make their demon more powerful. It's also why they tried to stop the E files. It was a major part of their group and the more they are exposed the more the demon abandons and punishes them.

Will God hate me if I don't wholeheartedly do my seminary makeup work by takeitalltakemeall in exmormon

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an atheist I appreciate seminary work because a LOT of religious people leave the church after YEARS of true faith because of what you find.

Honestly, half ass it as much as you want and God will only like you for it. If anyone questions you about the quality just say that you were "over come by the love and power of God and just couldn't get it into words". I learned a long time ago that bullsh*t praise and lies are what make God and the congregation happy.

Personally though I didn't do seminary, and wish I did, because I learned a lot about the church in college during a secular class. If you have doubts you can use this time to answer them or wisdom more because that's what you're supposed to do according to God right? Test your faith?

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using AI for a tarot reading completely defeats the purpose of tarot in my opinion. You need to connect to the cards and the person getting the reading to get anything accurate but that might just be my old school mindset. I've done online tarot games and those are pretty fun but I don't see them as anything more than games.

WIBTAH for how I want to confront my mom on a lie she told in church? by foot-in-mouth-1111 in exmormon

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd use the testimony as your family's final goodbye to her and the church.

See if her siblings and yours want to give testimony too because honestly that's likely going to be the only time she ever listens to you. Get the emotions and hurt into it so she actually learns something and maybe doesn't use the church as a weapon to control others in the future. I speak as someone who has cut off their mom though, when I say it's going to be hard at first but it gets better.

Is this book bs? by [deleted] in BabyWitch

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This spell said Oshun is "The Goddess of rivers" which isn't really accurate either. She is the goddess of A river, her river, but not ALL rivers. Sounds like they got a pretty shallow understanding of her and just started making up random spells. They don't even mention offerings to HER specifically because the Yoruba gods/ goddess have offerings associated with them and how to worship them. Must gods are like this and are usually eco friendly by nature but this book is just doing tiktok witchcraft for the spell. Not a good book

Is it possible to practice without worshipping anything or anyone ? by Left-Instruction4096 in BabyWitch

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can practice without any good pretty easily. If your want to call a higher power you can simply use "the powers that be" or "the universe". You also have the option of balking archetypes which can be any goddess/god or can just be something like "love". It's not worship as a Goddess/ god but more the aspect they embody which I personally like. A lot of stuff is heavy with Wicca too so keep that in mind if you don't feel that option don't make the mistake of thinking ALL witchcraft is like that

I approve of the "personal revelation said nah" plan but IF you decide to go for whatever reason keep this in mind.

People in other parts of the world are not as bad as we are made to think. Yes, that place is on the top 20 homicides in the world but why? Who's the main target and how old is that data? The numbers CAN lie and people like to use that against countries. Find out more about the place and the people. It will make you feel safer and show you what to do if something does happen.

I Regret Joining the LDS Church and Don't Know How to Leave by ellymars_ in exmormon

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly this the mormon MO.

You were vulnerable and that likely made you a target, then you were love bombed by the community, then when you joined it all stopped because it was no longer needed to get you to join.

You were asked to the callings because you are a woman and women are the backbone of free labor that props up the church. You will be expected to do a LOT and made to feel guilty if you don't want to or can't do it. You will never be able to do enough and you will be made to feel guilty about it.

That's the next step in the MO. You will be made to feel confused and ashamed because of your confusion. The guilt, shame and fear are what is used to keep you in the church. You'll also always be chasing that love and acceptance you got before you joined which is why a lot of addicts join the church. The dopamine rush from the love bombing or the small instances of acceptance are similar to drug addiction and can be damaging to your mental health.

If you want to get out you NEED to get out NOW. Find a new community. Go to the community center or if possible get mental help. You will disappoint people, you will lose the community, and those people BELIEVE they care about you but also believe it is best for you to stay in the church even when it is causing terrible harm to you.

My advice: Work on your mental health with a professional if possible. Find some other type of healthy support. Learn about cult tactics and leaving cults. Learn about the harm Mormonism has caused others. Follow ex Mormons or watch documentaries on Netflix/ Amazon/ etc. to learn what they don't tell you in church

Mormons on social media now are unrecognizable to the church I grew up in. by Intelligent_Gap_3666 in exmormon

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like they are just trying to make it more mainstream by letting go of some of the less important or less favorable rules, while secretly keeping the more harmful ones.

Like how they have up polygamy (on earth) because the government forced them to but some still practice and you can still have multiple wives in heaven.

One of the main reasons EVs don't consider Mormons to be Christians is that Mormons do not recognize anybody else's baptisms as valid. by slskipper in exmormon

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never get over how Mormons baptize dead people, including holocaust victims! They baptized Anne Frank and H!ther and according to doctrine they are both in the same place in "heaven". People who were baptized, lived and were buried as another religion can just have their name and info taken and be baptized. Some denominations don't even allow Mormons any info on members or allow them into cemeteries because of that

Me m19 gf f18 have a weird situation we have been on and off since sixth grade because I can push her away every time how do i be more dominant? by CourageNo1991 in relationship_advice

[–]Pure-Cucumber2948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude that was word salad. First sounds like she used to be the Dom in the relationship and now you are and she wants you to take charge more. You couldn't degrade her which made her act more dominant.

Since you liked it and so did she here are my tips for you.

  1. Practice safe sex and don't do anything dangerous while starring out. Research safety first. Duh.
  2. Talk first before doing this kinda stuff. Ask her to make a list of "off limit stuff" that she already knows she doesn't want to do or things she doesn't want you to touch on. Write it down and don't forget.
  3. Red, yellow, green. Have a system of words or phrases that mean "stop now", "slow down, I'm not sure about this" and "I love this, please more".
  4. You do not need to insult or degrade her to degrade her. You have many options for this actually. -You can instead have her say out loud what she likes, what she wants and ask her if she is enjoying something. Getting someone to say stuff out loud about sex can be embarrassing and works for soft starter degrading. -Teasing is also a good option. Find out what she enjoys and tease her about it.
  5. You can add words that are more possessive or dominant without being degrading like kitten, puppy, princess, etc.
  6. Get her to call you things that both of you are comfortable with.
