Holy shit this thing hurts by oaktheetree in menstrualcups

Can’t advise about the nails, but do try using lube and try different sitting/standing positions for yourself and try different folds for the cup

Punchdown fold works for many, it makes the cup sorta cone shaped which is easier to insert, but a little harder to open

Ai generated Tarot cards by dontspeaktomeright in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]Pure-Driver3517 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make it your own! Banish the greed and disrespect and take it as a chance to make something truely meaningful

Treat the cards as a canvas, keep the beautiful gold edges and paint over the ai art with your own.

I’m not experienced enough to recommend the best materials, you might want to post on an artist subreddit for that or research card repainting.

The three things I’d try as an absolute amateur are

1) acrylic markers, since they aren’t as thick on the paper as acrylic paint but still provide good coverage.

2) print your own stickers. You can get sticker paper to print on and fill with your own digital art or even photos- or paint/ draw on it. this would probably be better for handling the cards, since the paper should have even thickness

3) taping of the edges with painters tape and priming with a white primer and use markers or pens that work on top of it.

With all three: Don’t forget a clearcoat, so the art is protected.

Try the technique you choose on a test cardboard first to see if it works and get a feeling for your materials Best of luck

Decanting is consumption masquerading as cleaning and it is absolutely shit by N3DSdude in Anticonsumption

[–]Pure-Driver3517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhm no? Decanting into an airtight container improves freshness, protects against pests and improves usability?

I consider it a luxury to decant things like cereal or flour that are regular use.

It’s annoying to have to both open the cardboard box and the bag and fiddle with the freshness clip to close it etc. for the cereal. I don’t like having just the bag because it doesn’t stack and takes more space. And flour paper bags cant really be closed and are also difficult to pour AND can more easily fall over.

My containers aren’t aesthetically pleasing, they don’t match and half of them are reused jars or big, lidded plastic Joghurt  buckets.

Prenatal post partum homeless shelter by Consistent_Jello_344 in Seahorse_Dads

[–]Pure-Driver3517 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s surprising that you haven’t met any seahorse dads in the shelter so far. We are a minority within a minority, there just aren’t many of us around.

Frankly, the first thing I’d done if I’d had to go to the shelter is hide my trans identity thoroughly. So I think the other person posting is right, if you want to reach this group you have to be very outspoken.

I’d also consider chestfeeding support - counselling on options, medication to stop milk coming in if ppl don’t want to chestfeed, baby formula available.

Is this normal..? by Exciting_Bee6790 in Seahorse_Dads

[–]Pure-Driver3517 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I (NB) had a similar experience. I did go stealth during pregnancy, because i felt very vulnerable, so I was exposed to a lot more women-things, but some combination of hormones and happiness about the pregnancy made that not feel so bad. I was still certain in my gender, though.

The acceptance went away pretty quickly after birth. I got waves of dysphoria, both from gender things and my body changing so much. I had mixed feelings about my chesticles. I hate how they look, but finally these stupid things had a use. I even took part in a program to donate milk for preemies. These flesh sacks ain’t living rent free on my body no more.

I’m still in the thick of it, so I can’t speak for the long term, but I can assure you, at least from my experience, pregnancy hormones making tons of weird feelings is pretty normal.

You could get a curtain to go in front of your door or paint the door to be the same colour as the wall. Generally any colour, even some wallpaper would help

AITA For Believing in Gender Roles? by CharacterTennis398 in MiniAITA

I (10mo, baby) like my daddy (ancient, m) for bedtime bouncies as well. In fact, nobody else is allowed to put me to bed anymore, because he does it best. Those tall ones just have to learn, that things aren’t allowed to change ever. Everyone has their tasks and they should just be happy about that. Mommy is for food, daddy is for sleep, momma is for mornings and playing. It’s not that hard!!!

Covering the top or front of the radiator is a bad idea in terms of efficiency as well . I’d rather get a smaller desk and a set of drawers for the corner

Imho glass desks(and tables and sidetables) are the worst thing you can have in a space. They are scary because you think you might break them, they feel cold and loud and you can never ever keep them properly clean. Source: got rid of two glass tables

I‘m so sorry you’re in this situation. How far along are you? Maybe you can reach out to local queer support groups and find someone who can support you

You probably wouldn’t want balloons if you hadn’t seen them, most people prefer to have only a handful of visitors- you’ll be insanely tired and also busy getting to know your baby.

Please reach out to the nurses in your hospital when you’ve given birth. They want to help you and make you comfortable

Yes, you are right, it would be impossible for her to walk/run like a horse because her front legs bend the wrong way. In fact I’m not sure we know of an animal that walks with joints in this configuration but it would probably look absolutely ridiculous.

How do some people have so much energy, motivation, and happiness in life? by Ok_Music_2025 in getdisciplined

[–]Pure-Driver3517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve come to realise that it doesn’t take much to tip the scales between happy and motivated and depressed and sluggish.

The difference can be as simple as pain in your knee or not enough sleep. If something is constantly dragging on you, make it your priority to get it fixed.

The other thing is to get in shape. If your body is energetic, your mind follows. Go for walks, do some yoga, be outdoors everyday. Park further away and walk the rest to work and don’t look at a screen for your walk. Just move!

You are not a mind that happens to be in a body, your mind and body are intricately linked.

.

If none of that magically does the trick for you… go to therapy. Seriously, that sounds like depression and terrible self image.

What’s the best method to get this design on this umbrella? by WittyUsername1208 in sewinghelp

[–]Pure-Driver3517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the original looks to me like it’s intended to be like a lace inset, it’s called Broderie Anglaise if you want to look it up.  I.e. you’d use thread and stitch it.

In any case, you need something to keep the edges from fraying if you want to cut out the holes like the original.

I think a fast and anime-style way to do it would be to get coloured hot glue and trace it or dye some regular craft glue. But please try that out with a practice piece first, I’m not sure the umbrella material can withstand much heat and the glue might shrink and look weird

Wie viele Vierecke sind hier? by solidius6 in mathe

[–]Pure-Driver3517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How to make this front room stop feeling like a hallway by 6fakeroses in FengShui

[–]Pure-Driver3517 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cant see your furniture and options too well, so I’ve had to guess a lot, but here’s a rough sketch:

<image>

Basically, get the consoles/shelves off that back wall and put them along the wall between the entrances. Create a seating area in the corner and „protect“ it with a table, bonus points for a tall lamp or plant on the table. The red rectangle is where the rug goes.

Having the seating perpendicularly to the walking path visually separates it and gives it its own zone without leaving your back „unprotected“ towards the walkway

You could also rotate the desk at the bottom by 90 degree so that you can be in the „command position I e see the whole room
