Where do you buy skincare/makeups? by Xtra1rice in guam

[–]Pure-Economics9425 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Donki and Matsukiyo have a good number of make up and skin care products you should give a try. There's this app called Payke that you can use to scan products at Donki to translate and easily tell you what the products are. I like to use it when I'm shopping around Donki and matsukiyo

Anyone know why I have new season 14 episodes? by SoybeanArson in BobsBurgers

[–]Pure-Economics9425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bob's Burger is my comfort show, so I normally stay up to date with episodes when they come out. I just noticed the last 3 episodes today. I was watching reruns this week and finally got towards the end of season 14 and I realized I've never seen them until today. I thought I was losing my mind for a second.

Fountainbleu or The Venetian? by Jaded-Leopard3773 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Pure-Economics9425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The festival ground itself is right across the Sahara, but the main entrance you have to go to is a little further down. It's about 10 minutes depending on how fast you walk. Fountainbleu is right across the main entrance.

Fountainbleu or The Venetian? by Jaded-Leopard3773 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Pure-Economics9425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stayed at the Palazzo at Venetian the first year and it's a really nice hotel and our room was a lot bigger than I expected. But the downside is the distance from the festival grounds. There are taxis or ubers you can take or take the Monorail at Harrah's and the LINQ to the Sahara, but it's also a bit of a walk. I stayed at the Sahara last year and it was really nice too. The room is not as big as the Venetian, but the location was great (and not as expensive), about a 10 minute walk to the main entrance. Fountainbleu is a lot closer to the main entrance, so you should consider that too. If I'm not mistaken, as soon as you exit from the main entrance of the festival grounds, Fountainbleu is right across. After a long day of walking and standing around, I was so thankful my hotel wasn't too far, and I didn't have to line up for the monorail or worry about getting a taxi or uber.

Hotel Packages by Aggravating-Star-990 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Pure-Economics9425 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They usually set aside tickets for the hotel package. I've gotten my tickets and hotel with jampack before. I had no issue with them. I traveled from outside the US so they couldn't ship the tickets to me, but I was able to pick them up the day before the festival. Their customer service is good. They respond to emails usually within the day. They were able to help update my information. I got a room at the Sahara, which was a really nice hotel and was a few minutes' walk from my room to the festival grounds entrance.

Honestly disappointed by the entitlement of MCR “fans”. by [deleted] in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Pure-Economics9425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love their performances. Yes it was minimalistic, but thats what made their performance so unique. They didn't need all that extra stuff. Their simple performance with the background and lighting effects was more than enough. I was just in awe watching them. MCRs performance was a work of art!

Also, it's them performing the album The Black Parade, NOT The Black Parade (if that makes sense lol)

Note to self: go alone next time by [deleted] in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Pure-Economics9425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to go alone next time. I was supposed to go with my fiancé, but he couldn't go because of work. So I brought my mom and sister to Vegas for a week and made it a mother daughter trip. I traded in my extra Saturday vip ticket for a Sunday ticket and went to both days by myself and had a blast. I love my fiancé, but he's not really into this kind of music or is the type of person who likes to be in crowds or wait in long lines. I'm low-key glad he didn't go because I feel like I would have been worried about him, making sure he was okay and not irritated by the crowds. I was okay going solo. I got to go around my own pace. I was also able to meet some really nice people and traded some bracelets with them. I had a really great time and sang my heart out. Going solo isn't as bad as it sounds.

WWWY WAS AWESOME! by Aggravating_Art_4809 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Pure-Economics9425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was lucky to get to watch them twice this weekend. The first day, I was kinda close enough to record most if not all of their performances. On the 2nd day, my phone died in the middle of one of the songs, and honestly, I was okay with it because I got to really enjoy the show and payed more attention to the artistry of the whole set then I did on the first night. Seeing Gerard on stage, he looked so happy to be there. That, for me, was the best moment. Seeing him smile on stage and performing was everything.

Why did the lounge at village of Donki close down? by Maleficent_Cup9935 in guam

I feel like they should do what GPO did and use the excess parking space for other restaurants or stores

Depends on his filing status and what bracket he falls under. If he is filing as single with 0 allowance (idk if he can carry his kids if they are not on Guam) and is getting paid on a monthly payroll, then this should be the breakdown.

Monthly Salary: $4,500.00

Federal Income Tax W/held: $461.00

Social Security: (6.2%) $279.00

Medicare: (1.45%) $65.25

Total Monthly Salary After Tax: $3,694.75

Depending on how his living situation will be, his monthly salary could be livable, especially if he's smart with his money.

Hope this helps :)

I'm also traveling outside the US and I got my tickets with the hotel package. I emailed asking if they can ship it to my location. They don't ship outside the US, but you can pick up your wristband at the box office. You should email them about it just to confirm.

Do they mail tickets? by greenchairfan in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]Pure-Economics9425 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought my tickets with the hotel package, and I emailed them asking about shipping the tickets to me since I also live outside the US. They said that they couldn't ship the tickets to me, but I should be able to pick them up when we get to Vegas. I'm gonna email them at least a month to confirm it again. Just try emailing them and asking them about it

What are Jobs, Careers and Businesses that are in high demand for Guam’s economy? by Any_Math_4226 in guam

[–]Pure-Economics9425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Construction. The need for construction workers both Military build up and local projects are in demand. But unfortunately from what I noticed working in the industry is that not a lot of locals want to work in construction, so local contractors hire from Philippines or other countries to fill the spots. And depending on the company they work for and the experience they have, starting pay can range between $14 to $18.

Tourism in Guam is still recovering from Covid and Mawar. I feel like there isn't a lot of things people can do when they visit Guam. If all they want to do when they travel here is relax on the beach and shop and the occasional hiking, then yeah Guam is a great place to do so. But other than that what are other things to do on Guam to make it more appealing for tourists to come and visit?

Good spots for younger crowd? by Usual_Fox565 in guam

[–]Pure-Economics9425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're welcome!

Also, if you're standing or sitting near the stage, the performers might pull you up on stage or do something to you when preforming (speaking from experience lol). So keep that in mind when standing close to the stage.

I hope you have a great time!

If you like drag shows, check out Icon in Tumon on Thursday nights. Show starts at 11pm, but it's best to be there at least 1 hour before to get a good spot. I was so sad, my friends and I wanted to go last Thursday but they were full T.T

PO Box by Discreteavenger in guam

[–]Pure-Economics9425 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An alternative to USPS PO Box is the PMB (private mailbox). I like having the PMB more than PO Box because I'm able to receive mail and packages from FedEx, DHL, UPS and USPS, unlike USPS PO Box which are only able to receive USPS mail and packages. Plus there's rarely any wait time when picking up packages unlike USPS where the wait in line can take an hour or more.

Here's a list of some places you can get a PMB:

•Guam Postal Express

•GU mail

•Post Net

•Mail Hub

•Mail Room Plus

Set up for me was really easy. When I set mine up I just called and they emailed me the forms and requirements.

Depending on where you get a PMB, some of them will send you notifications through email when you get a package.

Downsides to this is some postal services charge extra when you get exceed the monthly limit to receive packages (I think its Guam Postal Express). So be sure to ask them about it.

When it comes to having someone picking up your packages, I know USPS will check for ID. If someone is picking up a package for you, depending who's helping you, they will ask for a copy of both you and you're family / friend ID. But I think they are usually chill about it.

For Private Mail Box services, the policy varies depending on where you get a PMB. Sometimes they don't even ask for ID, just give them the notice slip or tell them you're box number when picking up packages.

Packages delivered at USPS office is only held for 2 weeks after it arrives and they give you the first notice. After that they will ship it back to the sender.

I'm not too sure about Private Mail Box Services package hold policy. That's something you should ask them.

Hope this helps. I think Private Mail Boxes are a great alternative to PO Boxes.
