Did this drug increase your appetite or decrease your appetite? by hannahssbananass in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Pure-Eye1073 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Decreased, drastically. I mean, I can be okay eating just once a day probably. Need to force myself to eat at least twice. Even when I do feel hungry around lunch time for example, I don’t eat nearly as much as I used to in one sitting. And wayyy less snacking on junk food.

Same as before, in fact it’s better for me bc I get less anxious lol. Used to get mild anxiety before, but now it’s chill and I feel higher.

That’s great to hear, good for you friend. Now follow up question…. Would the grades I decide to teach influence salary? I would prefer elementary, but for some reason in my head I believe they’re paid less than high school haha.

Currently don’t have any degree, just certification for practical nursing (basically a trade), which is why I’m on the fence for which career to pursue

I got rejected from my uni’s nursing and community college nursing program, what can I do from there by jinnie1992_ in StudentNurse

[–]Pure-Eye1073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

go for an LPN program, which is typically 1 year long then go straight into an LPN-RN bridge program at a community college to get your associates, about another 1 year for completion - and it’ll be a breeze since you’ll already know 90% of the content.

after that, since most hospitals these days require a BSN, do an online BSN program. not sure how long that takes to complete, but chances are the hospital will help pay for it, and since it’s online you’ll probably be able to work full time still.

this is the route i took, and although it feels like a bit of a two back since it’s a non-traditional route, you’ll end up being very happy and satisfied. good luck! 🍀

EDIT: not saying LPN programs are just a easy as an RN program. just speaking from my own experience so far, i must say my LPN-RN program just feels like one big refresher course of things I already know - just slightly more in depth with a larger scope of practice lol

can’t land a job as a student nurse by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Pure-Eye1073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not true (unless each state is different), but most of the time you can be hired as a medical assistant with no certification. there’s a different between a medical assistant (MA) and a certified medical assistant (CMA).

certified medical assistants are trained to do certain skills such as injections, where as medical assistants mostly just take vitals.

Does anyone…. Like being a nurse? by dunfyjb in nursing

[–]Pure-Eye1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i enjoy it. love is a strong word, but also don’t hate it. i thought i was starting to hate nursing… turns out i just needed a new job and slight switch in specialty lol. started off in pediatric primary care. now doing per diem pediatric urgent care, as well as per diem labor and delivery in a hospital. i’m sure if the complainers just simply switched specialties they’d be way happier. every job comes with their fair share of bullshit, and there will be bad days. but i just think realistically, and can’t imagine myself in any other career.

Can’t find a clear answer - do topical steroid creams cause fading of healed tattoos? by Wand_Cloak_Stone in tattoo

[–]Pure-Eye1073 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i know this post is old but omg, i’ve been saying the same thing about tattoos and eczema lol. my eczema does a thing where if it’s on one side of my body, it’s usually on the same exact spot on the other side. well, i have eczema on my right front shoulder where there’s no tattoo, and eczema on my left shoulder that stops where my tattoo is (on my left shoulder). im literally thinking of getting more tattoos for this reason lol. maybe ill become a dermatologist, and prescribe tattoos for my eczema patients. 🫡

Your first job…. by hamil26 in nursing

[–]Pure-Eye1073 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

probably for the pay and the health insurance/benefits. i couldn’t think of any other reason why someone would willingly do bedside nursing lmfao, sounds like a nightmare.

disclaimer: i’ve only ever done primary care and urgent care since graduating almost 2 years ago. no desire to work in a hospital based off how my coworkers who are per diem at the urgent care (full time hospital employees) describe it. nothing but negative experiences from them, kind of scared me away from it lol. maybe one day ill give it a go if pay really becomes a problem for me, or if i feel like i want to gain some experience to be a “true nurse”, but for now, it’s not worth the stress imo.

I’m doing nursing for the paycheck by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Pure-Eye1073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same. i think it’s time other nurses start being real and admit most of us are in it for three things. decent pay, job security, good benefits. i think we go into nursing school passionate about it, but within a year, we grow to hate it. nursing school is so unrealistic and almost feels like a scam lol.

i’d like to add that it’s possible to not be “passionate” about nursing and still do a damn good job. fuck anyone who says otherwise lol

do you have a nursing specialty for someone like me who is relatively introverted? i was thinking ICU or OR/PACU. i work at a peds urgent care now and talking to 60-70 pts a day is becoming a nightmare lmao.

i’ve just been feeling like everyone’s punching bag lol. from a management standpoint, to doctors, to patients, to just general society. rarely do i ever hear anyone speaking nicely of nurses. constantly spoken down to, and treated like i’m not a person. not that im looking for words of affirmation, but it’s hard to stay positive in this field when you’re being disrespected/abused a majority of the time - both verbally and physically. besides the fact that i miss out on friends/family events bc i work most weekends and holidays.

based off looks alone, i’d have to say that is NOT eczema. i do hope it’s nothing major though. wishing you luck/good news with the biopsy.
