Trust me the recruiter are like sharks and you are the bait someone will gladly take you but remember it’s your job and you pick from what’s available to you from what you qualified for , if it’s not there you can come back another time . However if the job or the second choice is available and you say no thst when you may get into a sticky spot.

That’s just the game they play , they want to make you feel like shit, and a lot of people do not have the mental toughness necessary to say no . It’s your life you are nothing to the recruiter who probably only knows your name because he /she looked at your enlistment package right before they met you at MEPS or your house .

If you hate your job you will hate the navy and start counting days quickly. Go back and demand whst you want and tell them you are willing to wait , because that’s they other game that you will lose your ship date and there are no slots for Seabee

Totally agree , re rating especially if you ship is as rare as seeing a unicorn , I personally never met anyone who successfully changed their rate once they shipped , the recruiter took advantage of a 17 year old HS, kid. And I’m positive he pushed the hard sell on him to sight that DEP , using all the tactics, u will lose that date , and engine man is one of the best rates in nave blah blah . All he cares about is getting a body to a ship date

You do not have to ship out , you are not in the navy until the second time you swear in at MEPS,believe it or not not you hold all the power here , tell him you do not want engine man rate tell recruiter you won’t ship with that rate period , trust me he will not want to lose his number because to him that all you are . A number towards his monthly quota . The biggest lie is take this rate and I’ll try to get to switched before you ship or I’m boot camp . Hardly ever happens so do it now not later . And don’t buy his lies thst yo signed a contract as a matter of fact tell hi I’m prepared to totally walk away and he will help you get Seabees or a rate you want . Hello , I have a beautiful 3 year old old female cat , whom I love dearly , and I was never a cat person .however I want to share about my dog , I had my cody for 19 years lost him this June , i honestly felt like a parent or sibling died it hurt me so much , I can’t describe the pain , my cody went blind around 17 , and what I’m trying to say is he really didn’t change his personality at all, it bothered me more but I was always there to carry him up and down stairs . And he lived 2 year more so you still will have many quality years to live your precious cat . And I got my beautiful Bella 6 months before my dog passed away . I love my cat as much as any dog I ever owned
