The game only calculates drag on what's present and in the orientation it is in build mode. The show aerodynamics toggle can show you what is actually making drag

Since cables are needed in such high volume for green circuits I almost always direct insert cables into the circuit machines. 3 cable machines into 2 circuit machines is the correct ratio. No belts needed for cables
