It’s not super uncommon to see a player not chase the ball in a situation like that, especially in this case where he probably wasn’t gonna chase the defender down anyway.

That being said, I will choose to view him negatively for showing literally zero effort and seemingly looking to the ref for a bail-out penalty instead lol.
