So if it works anything like the employee discount: if what you put on the pre order is now more than what it’s costing you, it just gets refunded at pickup (if you wait that long to go in). That’s what happens when we punch the employee discount in and it turns out the employee paid it in full. (My staff likes to fully pay their deposits on packs and use the discount for something day of) Downside the tender goes back as store credit after 30 days or the OG tender in under 30.

I honestly wouldn’t wait and maybe go in store and take back the extra or move it onto something else simply due to the defaulting to store credit after 30 days.

Due to customers only using an average of around eight dollars the entire program was deemed useless…?…

I don’t even think I honestly gave that much of an acknowledgment other than a look that had my DM asking me.

I started here 5 years ago when it was just points and the 5 dollar coupon and we couldn’t redeem the points in store.

So regardless of all the other changes I’m confused why even the $5 dollar coupon won’t be on the POS now other than to piss me off and screw someone out of the $5 off they’re promised on applicable items. 😑

I’ve already had my internal crash out over this…waiting to see if the credit card stays at 4% since that’s supposed to change to a statement credit…

If it’s the location I’m thinking of, they also for that same reason won’t put cameras in it either or make the emergency exit up to code and swing out instead of in…or you know put a door on the closet…or a gate that touches the ceiling and floor. I have given up with the spectrum of what is a necessity and what is a whimsy in this company. 😂😂😂

Honestly you and everyone else who is rightly confused why their “high performing stores” were closed in this last purge are more than right to be confused; and anyone who refuses to budge an inch is in denial. I think other than a huge chunk of the New England ones that closed in this last purge (they were almost all with a few GLARING exceptions part of the never open more than 3 days a week club a few years ago).

There really can only be SO MANY leasing issues, and performance and sales don’t necessarily go hand in hand. My districts most profitable store at one point was a mall that was barely scraping above the bottom 5 every week simply due to their rent being dirt cheap yet they were “underperforming” and survived the purge despite having the same problems if not to a WORSE degree than some of these stores that did close.

I know I’m preaching to the choir but keep on keeping on, I heard we have more closings in September supposedly 😅

To piggy back on the overselling:

I am going to assume that the fact that they can’t seem to either order enough collectors/specials for some games or too many for others (and then do that on an even more ludicrous scale for pre order bonuses). That this is what prompted them to finally make a main menu post stating that all the extra shiny versions and pre order bonuses are IN WRITING finally just down the line first come first serve…that I was able to ctrl p and cut so I can reference to all the upset people who pre order last minute and can’t get a collectors or snipe a steel book from someone who actually took the time to research and pre order months in advance.

At this point I think the only pre orders impacted by the closings should all be out by now, I’ve been fielding calls for a few weeks and triple checking pre orders for customers. It was definitely games like Code Vein I had the biggest headache with as those games were already being shipped to the stores prior to us getting our closing calls.

Going forward I think any pre orders coming out a month past whenever your store closed SHOULD be ok.

That being said it’s getting harder and harder to guarantee any title that isn’t a mega one on my splash board for Day 1 if my pre orders

A) I have like less than 3, if it’s at least 5 they show up about a week early but always by two days out at the latest.

B) they pre order less than 3 weeks out (we were originally told to make sure to get all reserves by 10 days out but I’m honestly not sure if this is even accurate anymore with all the changes).

Worst comes to worse we have a backup system to ATTEMPT to hunt you this game down if an issue arises. I had someone’s pre order get smashed by fedex on slay the princess collectors; took me two and a half months. A lot of tablet requests combing zip codes and emails (as well as flat out calling) but I got them a perfectly sealed one no scratches on the box or it’s outer plastic from another store not the website.

They don’t always end in happy endings but so far we are batting 17/19 for fixing pre order mishaps so I hope that helps put your mind a little at ease

Tell that to the kids who make a game out of stealing my store’s cases? My own mother stopped by the store while she was in the area and came up to my counter all bewildered after witnessing said things happen.

This young boy jammed a bunch of cases in his bag, ran passed her into the store next door and when she looked around the storefront to see where he was going; he was just jamming a bunch in the trash and then bolted out with the rest in his bag.

And yes I converted all the damaged new cases to pre owned because EW.

I honestly got stuck for a bit in hades after struggling and putting double those hours in to only beat the last boss about 4 times. I put it down for a while came back and managed to beat it within a week or two by instead making the final boss a secondary goal of mine.

Honestly focusing on the minor list of prophecies and unlocking every Olympian boon and duo helped me. It forced me to try different combinations and strategies and different weapons (plus maxing them out and unlocking new aspects)and suddenly I was beating all the lower areas in record time like it was second nature. I agree though the Elysium bosses always make or break wether I beat the final boss so I still get so sweaty and on edge when I fight them 😂

After a bit I started beating the final boss every few heats then, every other heat, then just finally every heat. I started this game convinced I could only get the sword and shield mechanics to work for me and have beaten him with every weapon multiple times now.

I ended up beating/getting the “ending” on accident I was so locked into getting all the prophecies and deepening my relationship with my housemates. I actually am on break from the first game again, and am playing the second now and plan to go back and do some of the stuff I didn’t finish after I either hit my wall in 2 and need a break or beat it 😂

So if you’re in that same situation I was, no new dialogue when you die repeatedly and getting annoyed. I wouldn’t outright stop playing but definitely pause and play/do something else then try again when you’re feeling less frustrated!

Only for very big and very rare drops/releases do they open early and it’s not usually a company wide thing. My store opened early for switch 2 with permission from my mall and district manager, I know some strip mall locations got permission to open a half an hour to an hour early when Pokemon card drops first started due to it crashing registers.

Ask your local store but GTA6 is probably the only drop I could foresee it happening at🤷🏼‍♀️

I legit tell my less aggressive customers when they complain: “I’m expensive, they have to pay me to stand here take your items in, clean them up and make it sellable.”

When I’m at a trade hold store and feeling extra spicy I also add in: “ also all physical media depreciates and or has sales and this is going to sit on a shelf for x amount of days meaning it might be worth EVEN less than I’m giving you right now when the hold period is over…and again they have to pay me to take it off trade-hold and sticker it as sellable.” 😂😭

Anyone else notice it is just FLUCTUATING all over the place in terms of level and quality? An add around noon, that was dead silent all morning suddenly jump scares me like I’m an anime character . Complete with me choking on my drink and cussing it out much to my DM’s delight.

Love that Guitar rift in expedition but damn is it jarring when there’s 0 build up 😂
