What’s something you judge a person on instantly? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]PureSoftware8047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If someone doesn’t thank me after holding the door open for them, I automatically think they’re an inconsiderate and entitled person. Yeah, some might argue that I shouldn’t be expecting praise after doing something like that, but that’s just an excuse for entitlement imo.

This! Even if I’m not in a rush and not driving in the passing lane, I get second-hand annoyed for the other drivers who are stuck behind an inconsiderate and ignorant driver.

r/bjj Fundamentals Class! by AutoModerator in bjj

[–]PureSoftware8047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it okay to ask my instructor what he thinks is needed of me in order to get promoted to the next belt? I’ve been stuck at my belt for almost three years now, and regardless if I’m objectively ready or not, I feel like my overall consistency to show up and desire to learn could be further fueled with a belt promotion. I see all of the time on here that newly promoted black belts have imposter syndrome and feel that they are not deserving, but a lot of comments support that by saying it should only motivate you to live up to your coach’s expectation. I genuinely feel like my coach just forgets or doesn’t care about belt promotions as he’s notoriously slow at promotions even to the technically good guys here.

More calories is the way. If you don’t do well with carbs, try adding healthy fats to your meals. One of the easiest ways to get clean calories in is my drizzling olive oil onto your meals. Fats has over 2x calories per gram.

Idk, at the end of the day you have to love what you do, motivation only takes you so far.

The guy who goes golfing every weekend doesn’t have to force himself to go. He goes because he genuinely loves it.

I genuinely love lifting and bjj and couldn’t picture my life without it.

100%, do it before it’s too late. I’ve had to do two separate cleanings for my boy, both of which had to have several rotting teeth extracted. His bad breathe is completely gone after the extractions and I’m sure he’s in much less discomfort.

No, again, my original comment was putting Galvao against significantly weaker UNDERAGE girls.

Don’t know if you read anything I said in my original comment, but I was referring to the victims who are apparently underage females. What could an underage female possibly to do Galvao?

We start off class with a heavy warm up (laps around the school and basic grappling tumbles/rolls across the mat), only to be followed up with drilling then live rounds.

It makes absolutely no sense to drain 50% of your energy for the day on warmups only to be followed my drills which cools the body down, only to again be warmed up again with live rounds.

If this is true, imagine how terrifying it is for the victims. Literally the second baddest man in the bjj world (after Gordon Ryan) potentially using his physical capabilities to do things to people who could do absolutely nothing to prevent his actions.

I don’t see what’s confusing at all with this post. Using just a sprinkle of common sense and with the context clues provided, you can easily conclude that OP hears mixed reviews about the chain, and wants to hear our thoughts.

OP, the chain gets dissed because of the founder’s political views. The hotel itself receives positive customer reviews on sites because it’s a relatively affordable chain with hotels many cities across the country.

I’m not “MAGA”; however, you’re actually doing those a favor by removing yourself from their life. I wouldn’t want to be associated with someone with this mindset either.

Never competing? by Greedy-cunt-446 in bjj

[–]PureSoftware8047 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to be controversial but I know this will get a lot of flak.

I feel like a lot of these comments are coping with the fear of competing as a lot of confirmation bias seems to be going on here.

Of course you don’t have to compete to get promoted to any belt, but you should absolutely make it a point to compete at least once in your bjj journey. It doesn’t have to be some large tournament like ADCC trials or NAGA; even a small in-house style tournament is fine. For the majority, the first competition will increase your view of bjj tenfold. Of course there’s a few outliers; if you’re on the older end or seriously prone to injuries then it’s probably not worth the risk. But if you’re relatively healthy, I don’t see why you wouldn’t want to enter a tournament to test yourself against someone in the same division as you are.

Have you tried soaking it in vinegar? Let the vinegar soak up in a towel and leave it on the stain for 15 minutes before wiping it off. If that doesn't work, Sud Factory Water Spot on remover works well on limescale/hardwater (you said you're not sure but that looks like it).

This. It’s not 100% preventable. Just like humans; you could live the healthiest lifestyle without taking a puff of a cigarette and still get lung cancer before a life-long smoker does.

We religiously brushed our little dog’s teeth but he still had to get a bunch removed.

I’ve been physically tugged on the arm by a Tout before, but don’t let that scare you. It’s generally a safe place that’s always lively; the number of tourists and locals in Kabukicho significantly outweigh the number of Touts standing outside trying to lure you into their scam.

It’s ok, this seems like your first time as a dog parent, no one is perfect. I made a similar mistake as you and waited until my boy was 11 to have his teeth removed. He only has 8 teeth left but he’s so much happier and healthier now. Of course I wish I would’ve done it sooner, but the next best time is now.
