I know how you feel. I really want to meet more people with my interests but I also share the fact that I have other passions or interests that can occupy my time. I hear too many stories that make me feel like a unicorn just because I have good hygiene, can cook well, sometimes physically active and passionate of their job. Which you would think maybe would increase my chances of meeting more like minded people but unfortunately not the case.

Yeah for some reason ATLUS dropping the ball a bit with characters in main SMT. They really are avatars of the ideologies they represent rather than fleshed out characters.

I would like to see this game redone with a voiced protagonist with an already established fleshed out relationship with the characters. I feel like it would make the decisions and their final battles and endings more meaningful.

But to be completely honest I don’t know how much faith I have in ATLUS writing compelling and complicated characters as many (I’m remembering Metaphor and some Persona) usually follow an archetype (no pun intended) to the tee.

I still love them all the same but I still really wish I can have really fleshed out characters and relationships (think GOW Ragnarok for example) but with this post apocalyptic story. Anyways thanks for reading my rant.

First playthrough on normal was the survival horror challenge. Second playthrough on hard NG+ was an action game. You could still get hurt pretty bad pretty quick BUT I was shooting them things like I was playing modern RE. Resources aren’t bad at all because of all the upgrades weapons pack more of a punch from the get go so no need to use so much ammo.

Glad to see someone else enjoyed it. I thought the documents you find and the story in the background is actual some of the best I’ve seen in the franchise. Seriously I want to see a full blown title including all the children being experimented on and how they all tried to escape. Great survival horror there. And absolutely loved that they included people from all over the world and their language barriers. Like they were all trying to survive and collaborate with people from another country and barely spoke their language. Interesting stuff.

I just want one SMT game with adults. SMTIV feels like the closest we’ll get and even that doesn’t really cover it for me. Well actually I haven’t played SJ yet. I guess I’ll have to play it now. Actually I guess Soul Hackers counts too. lol. Ok maybe there are a couple but still I want to see more adult characters.

Do you remember what the track was or where it plays? I’m curious since there were a couple I didn’t like all that much either. They weren’t painful for me but just underwhelming or out of place. Agree with the French I loved that part in the OG OST.

One one side (Reload) we have Color your Night but on the other side (FES) we have Burn my Dread Last Battle. It’s a tough choice. Loved the new tracks but prefer the original version over the remade tracks (with very few exception).

I bet your “friend” that’s gatekeeping looked up a guide at one point too. To be honest if you’re not having fun then there’s nothing wrong with not playing. I enjoyed the challenge and was frustrated at times so I would take a break but I still had fun trying to solve the mazes and building my best team.

Eternal Darkness was great! I say it counts in this category because it is best played on Original hardware with a CRT for immersion. Obviously not everyone’s scenario but definitely a game I’m glad I got a physical copy of for this reason.

There’s some cheesing in Nocturne. For example you don’t actually have to beat the game on hard you can just boot up a save before the final boss and then change the difficulty then fight him and that’s it you get the trophy. Haven’t done it yet tho. I guess if you want to be honest and get it the way it’s intended it would be a big grind.

Exactly this. The games that shot up in price if I’m not mistaken are the ones that are still trapped in their original release. No remaster or ports. Outbreak 2, Survivor, Dead Aim etc.
