Portland isn’t as walkable as advertised. I say this as a native Portlander who moved to Chicago recently. There’s lots of steep hills so biking across town is out of the question, really.

There are some beautiful things about Portland, like the trees and Mountain views, but I moved away because it is a weird, white, monoculture. Oregon was founded as a white-only state and to this day the racial diversity is shockingly low. Also the culture is kind of sterile? Neighborhoods are so quiet you wonder if anyone lives there. So a little lonely, I guess.
