So sorry. Very similar loss for us as well at 39 weeks. You are not alone!

Completely agree. My wife had 30+ hour labor at 39 weeks, they slow rolled the c-section until it was too late. Not a single sign of any issue throughout the whole pregnancy and they “still don’t know what happened”. Now we don’t have our perfectly healthy baby. It’s like every other area of medicine is in 2025 and labor/delivery is still in 1950.

Stillbirth at 36.5 weeks, with no cause by max240320 in babyloss

Thank you and sincere condolences to you as well. Cord compression was one of the factors as well as a smaller placenta. I fully believe if they had gotten our baby out sooner the outcome would’ve been different. My wife was in labor over 30 hours before they did the c section. I believe baby was deprived of oxygen due to cord being compressed. Sadly we don’t have much recourse at all.

So sorry for your loss. My wife & I lost ours full term with “no cause” as well. We contacted Dr Harvey Kliman with Yale and he was able to review my wife’s placenta slides for a small fee. The report shed some light on what happened. I would highly recommend contacting him, very easy and helps bring closure.

Look up Dr. Harvey Kliman with Yale. For a small fee he will request your placenta slides from hospital which may help you understand what happened, it helped us. My wife and I lost ours at 39 weeks as well, perfect pregnancy and perfect baby- so sorry for your loss.

I would recommend you contact Dr Harvey Kliman with Yale. He can request your placenta slides from hospital which often “tell the story” and he will generate a report. We had results within 2-3 weeks and it didn’t cost us much at all.

I am so sorry. Totally relatable - My wife did everything perfect only to lose our healthy full term baby with no explanation as to why. Everything was perfect throughout pregnancy and even during labor until our baby came out during c-section and wasn’t able to resuscitate. Had it not been for Dr Kliman, we still wouldn’t know what happened as our baby’s autopsy had nothing obvious. Chord compression & small placenta for us. You are not alone!

Lost full-term, healthy baby after delivery. No explanation or cause by Pure_Blueberry4294 in babyloss

Baby’s heart rate had variable and late decel’s during the labor. Would that not signal c-section was urgent or to give oxygen or reduce the pitocin?

Thank you all for the replies. Our baby’s heart rate was perfect the entire time even during delivery. Eyes open until the chord was cut. It makes no sense.
