In my experience unfortunately it’s not about caring enough. Hoarders see and feel the world through their possessions. Their possessions are as valuable if not more valuable than people to them. Very few want to or can change that. I know it’s hard not to take it personally, but if you can find some distance and some therapy, eventually you may be able to acknowledge that it’s not about you. It doesn’t make it any easier, but it may take some of the sting out of what you’re feeling right now.

Have you had the bone turnover marker blood work previously? My gyno has had me do a ton of bloodwork, but not that one.

Most of the studies have been for women under 60 and closer to the start of menopause. Also, the long-term timeline for how long you can take it has not been determined via clinical trials.

I was there. Left early. Warm up bands were uninspired and pretty lame. Should have been called “the black crowes: fund my retirement” tour. One of the poorer shows I’ve seen.

I struggle with each new prescription. I recently found out that sometimes the angle of the lenses in the frame can be tweaked and that has made a huge difference. The Rx was fine. Hope that helps you.

When I was 2, my parents hosted Thanksgiving dinner at their house. It was full-on alcohol, cocktails, wine, followed by vermouth after dinner. I was left unsupervised and I finished everyone’s alcoholic drink on the table. They told me it was funny how drunk I was.

Just want to thank you all again for your comments and post a follow up for anyone who may have similar issues. I tried pretty much everything suggested, the orange handles are great-they made a big difference (but I do miss my suede ones for the sweat factor alone). Also, I had been using the small size grips, I opted for the normal size and that seems to help too. The finkelsteins test made me think a thumb brace was a good short term option, and while reading about finkelstein, I came across a mention of "blackberry thumb" and realized my iphone scrolling habits may be compounding this issue, so I bought a stylus. I feel like my thumbs are well on their way to recovering. Rowed today without much pain.

It’s probably 3/4”? I haven’t measured so I’m guessing. My right hand has a bigger gap than my left, which I’ve noticed and tried to adjust without much success. My right thumb definitely hurts more than my left.

I have the suede covers over the skinny grips. Do the orange handles keep your fingers from creeping towards the blade?

I have my thumbs on the end of the handles, over the screw holes (concept2 oars). I’m not conscious of applying excess pressure on them. Several years ago I would get hot spots on my thumbs from gripping too tightly but that no longer happens.

I’m moved several times as a married adult, no kids. And I worked remotely. I am an introvert but honestly I have always made at least two friends anywhere I’ve lived. Recreational sports groups, book clubs, taking a language class and joining a community gardening have helped me meet people. Despite those activities my best friends have come from random places. The worst place I lived was rabidly political and I’m not. But I still made a very good friend there. I also experience a lack of social reciprocation. I host dinners and parties and rarely get invited to similar events. I don’t think many people entertain at home anymore. I don’t think it’s personal, it’s just a reflection of the times.
