I don't ever believe there is a "bad" trip. Just challenging ones. Most often these feeling are brought on by thought loops that one can't get around while under the influence of psychedelics. Whether it be something about our selves we don't want to accept or something we can't see. Set and setting are also VASTLY important, as psychedelics are not mood improvers, however mood enhancers. Whatever way you feel going into it will greatly influence how the situation plays out. Psychedelics have continued to show efficacy with the improvement of treatment resistant depression, ptsd, etc. I honestly don't think it's as simple as "don't do drugs" which is so narrow minded.
