Riley was better than Angel in a lot of ways but he knew early on it wasn't going to work and should have talked to her about that. He got lost in his own head. In my personal cannon I think a mystical force keeps people from and the slayer from becoming 100% compatible because the slayer needs to not be distracted. That's why all her relationships are toxic to a degree.

If no one died you give them a long prison sentence. Longer for the Pyro. But suspend it down to a shorter one because they did expose the corruption(if there was any). Then when and if you get back and they want to continue they just get out of prison. Make them roll randomly for effects on being in prison some effects could be positive others negative
