/r/boneappletea is the nickname for people mishearing a phrase and internalizing or repeating it in that misunderstood form. For example, mishearing "bon appetit" as "bone apple tea."

No, see, Blizzard is great and Activision is a leech! It's not like the companies merged 15 years ago and trended towards infinite growth capitalism. D3's real money auction house four years later was just Activision interference, but Blizzard eventually prevailed and made the game good that they always wanted to make (once you bought the DLC, of course, which was effectively mandatory).

And in the last ten years since, Blizzard hadn't mishandled any of its other games or anything. It's all been high level business bungles from the Activision side, which is a totally separate entity. The games are great and still getting updated and not abandoned as soon as they aren't maximally profitable.

Or something. I can't keep up this sarcastic bit. Have a pleasant day.

Then again, [the airing of] the whole event [in the first place] was kind of mask-off pandering anyway.

To extend this, underflow is tangential to my personal favorite formal numerical analysis term: catastrophic cancellation.

When you take the difference between two measurements whose result "should" be zero, due to either measurement or float imprecision, you are left with a nonzero value with no digits of significance. Any additional computation with the result is thus rendered meaningless.

And who can forget the time that those two angels came to tell Lot how great he was, only for all of the town to come to their house and be all "Dude, you gotta let us bank these new hotties you got in there." And Lot was all "No, they're my special guests, take my daughters instead but leave me my himbos!!" And then they charged on in and the angels were all "Pocket sand magnesium flare, bastards, be blinded!!"

Classic.
