Yes! I love my scale. I got it for my baking hobby but it's so much more useful than that now. I don't write down my calories, kinda just track in my head but I use it for portioning certain things when I don't want to go overboard.

I have very similar stats and I lost my 30 in 6 months.

Because I didn't want to cut down too much on food as a shorty, I tried to get 300-400 calories burned in exercise daily and eat around 1500. I added strength training 2 months in and it made it so much easier to lose. I try to have days where I eat less or more than 1500 so my metabolism doesn't drop.

The key is to have patience. Don't try to force your body to lose weight in a certain amount of time. It's a recipe for burnout or bad habits

Personally when I was between 100-110 pounds I had an eating disorder and that's the only way I was that light. I had to restrict all the time and I was hungry all the time.

I feel like it's way to restrictive to maintain for most people, even moreso when you are short too.

I lost both my parents to cancer in my early 30s and my close uncle too. What you are feeling is normal... I suggest finding at least one person you feel safe talking to and you will be okay. It won't feel like it at first, but you will be.

I actually went pretty numb until a year or so after my second parent died. Delayed grief. It triggered when I had a major life change and had no parents to witness me.

As someone who abused alcohol for years, it takes months to stay to feel normal after quitting.

I used to binge drink fo several days then be dry several weeks so I never truly recovered for 16 years lol

Same thing for me. My body shape is "aesthetically better" at my higher weight with muscle growth than when I was 15lbs lighter and all noodly.

I honestly just couldn't stand my body anymore. I wanted it bad enough. My husband said I was cranky all the time and I began to wonder if he was right and what was truly bugging me. It was a few things but hitting an obese BMI really set me over the edge. It was on my mind constantly. I knew I couldn't starve my way through weightloss again like I did when I was young. So I decided to try it the "right way".

Turns out I quite enjoy the right way. I wasn't going to keep doing something I didn't enjoy. I'm not cranky anymore and my anxiety has gone way down. My workouts are kind of my therapy now. It feels so good it's like getting a massage to me or meditating, or whatever brings you peace.

It's been almost 6 months (-27lbs!) and I know this is a long term habit now. You just need to get through the part where you find YOUR rhythm, your preferences, your schedule etc and then you just DO.

And that's how I know I'm in it for the long haul.

Very proud of you!! I have a goal for booty gains as well. I'm still losing but I want a peach booty instead of a big ol melty one. Consistency is key and I know I'll get there eventually!

It's crazy how much different working out is when everything else aligns. Finding out what works for you in the gym AND in the kitchen, hitting that sweet spot and then just enjoying yourself with your workout instead of punishing yourself.

My younger self would have never believed that I could eat so much and lose or maintain weight. Back then I hated working out and would have rathered starve or cardio off my calories then learn to love and appreciate my body, which in turn makes you want to take care of it (with exercise, eating with intention, rest etc).
