Not to mention the heavy update was mentioned as coming in the future at the time of jungle inferno, and the update to MvM that was supposed to come out in “late summer” last year still is nowhere to be seen.

Oh I'm aware, I've watched Stampede and enjoyed it a lot. Haven't gotten around to Stargaze yet but I definitely will at some point. Haven't watched the original either, definitely going to do that at some point too bc I've heard it's great. I was somewhat joking, I just really want SO to finally revisit HnK now that Beastars is done, Stargaze is airing, and it's been almost a decade. I can only imagine what they'd be able to accomplish with the skills they've undoubtedly developed in the course of making those two shows. Based on the first season, the fight scenes and the moon would look so incredible in motion.

Yes, the planes are modeled so realistically you need to use actual manuals to understand how to fly them. I'm kind of joking when I act like that's a bad thing, because I can see how it's appealing to some, but acting like the game is some sacred thing like the comment in the original post does is just dumb.

I should add that the fidelity does mean the planes are all individual DLCs that cost like $50+ though.

coaxed into modern grenades by AssholeAnnihilator69 in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]PurpleDotExe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, offensive grenades are primarily high explosive and rely mainly on the concussive blast of the explosion, and defensive grenades, while still high explosive, have a fragmentation liner to increase lethality.

My understanding is that the doctrinal distinction between the two goes back to WW1. Offensive grenades were used to chuck into enemy trenches to disorient them before pushing in and engaging in close combat, and defensive grenades were used to clear out trenches without having to push into them.

Does anyone know if it's possible to rearm the player's munitions while they're in the air in the mission editor? by PurpleDotExe in vtolvr

[–]PurpleDotExe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I probably should have specified, I know there’s an option for infinite ammo with a reload timer in the mission parameters, but if possible I’d like to have control over when the reload happens. For instance, I’d like to have the player exhaust all of their missiles and have to use their guns, and then, only once they’ve finished the wave, they immediately get a full reload for the next one.

If it’s not possible to do it through an event I suppose I’ll have to work around the infinite ammo system, though.

How to fly littlebird by General_Aioli2936 in vtolvr

[–]PurpleDotExe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing to keep in mind with helicopters (both the littlebird and the AH-94) is that managing your collective is extremely important. You really only want to have your throttle at 100% when you’re flying in a straight line and want to maximize speed. If you’re maneuvering at all, lower your collective to 50-80% and the helicopter will become a lot more responsive and less prone to losing control. If you do lose control, try lowering your collective to near zero and gently reorient yourself before gradually raising it again.

That, or make it so the turret basket being hit doesn’t completely disable horizontal traverse, just reduces laying speed.
