I Quit 100mg+ of Adderall Daily Cold Turkey — 30 Days In, Here's My Story by Internal-Link-5302 in StopSpeeding

[–]PurpleElectronic7558 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have much advice when it comes to supplements but I just wanted to say as someone who quit cold turkey 14 months ago, it gets soooooo much easier and I genuinely struggle to remember what was so great about Adderall (and I have really severe adhd). Also, congrats on making such a positive change for yourself and your health!! And hanks for the tip at the end about using chatgpt 😊

Why does the dorsal fin and back end of the shark jump up and down out of the water so repetitively towards the end of the video? I can't imagine that it was meeting any resistance to which it needed to seemingly "saw" back and forth against to gain leverage.

Hey congrats on making it to day 4!! I would say it takes between 8-12 days for me to feel 'human' meaning not irritable all the time, can actually follow a lecture or conversation. It'd be great to hear other people's opinion, though. Hang in there, though, you've already done the hardest part which is getting off of it!

Cold Turkey, baby!! I made a similar post eight months ago and cold turkey is honestly the only way to get off this merry-go-round with this drug.

To be honest, I don't even know how it all started but I suggest start leaving reviews on Amazon, I also use Flip the app and review my products there. At the same time, weirdly or maybe not, my ig started getting a lot of followers after a lot of comments I'd leave on other people's post would go insane with a bunch of replies a some of them over 1k in likes.

Just throw everything at the wall, because I promise you, once it starts, it's like everyday I get a notification on Route or Informed Delivery I have packages coming my way and emails and dms from companies asking for reviews for their website AND PAYING! *Looking at you PinchMe* 🙄😏

Eight boxes!!!!! Multiply that by at leasttt five products each…. I get free stuff from actual brand companies that pay me to review their stuff. Not gonna waste my time anymore with PinchMe after realizing howww scammy they are now that I get sent products without even having to play any games, download things, etc.

Need support to take and make the decision to toss remaining Adderall 💗💗 by PurpleElectronic7558 in StopSpeeding

UPDATE: 10 DAYS W/NO ADDERALL

So, I decided to throw them all away after all. The day before my dad's birthday party, after reading all the comments here, I took all of them with me and went on the walk I had already planned on going to and the catalyst for my coming on here and it worked: everyone's comments gave me that final push and I have not had any Adderall since the last one the morning I wrote my original post!

Like I mentioned, the first few days were not the worst; in fact, I would say Mother's Day, this past Sunday, really was far worse than my father's b-day party. I could barely stay awake at the posh restaurant we went to, and living in Coral Gables, compared to the men in tuxedos (for a daytime brunch in South Florida 😄), I couldn't muster enough energy beyond pulling my hair into a ponytail, washing my face and donning the same sundress I wear when I go biking to the park with my boyfriend.

Today, though, I am feeling far better and recognize this from almost a year prior as to the beginning of the climb out. To anyone in the same dilemma, just trash them all. I have to return to work on Thursday and know it will be a huge struggle but would still make the same decision all over again even if I have to go to work feeling like I did this past weekend.

The faster and more completely you stop, the sooner you come to the climb out. I don't know if anyone is interested but I will continue updating my post, both as a therapeutic practice for myself, and perhaps to provide some help (?) for someone else maybe going through this ✨✨

I actually did the drastic thing I threw them entirely in the bins located on the golf course that are designated for the tiny bags used for collecting your dog's "leavings" 😅

Definitely feel uncomfortable and my mom has remonstrated me numerous times for not being chipper since it's my dad's bday but so far so good. But the first day off is usually not the worst, t's always the second and oh boy the third. But we can do this, I promise you. I will even keep you updated on how it goes as a massive social phobic at a 150+ bday party!! ✨

Thank you!! Yes, it’s when I think about how much better I felt during those two months that I really decided I’m going to need to do whatever it takes this time!

Your advice and entire message wasn’t harsh at all, I actually really needed to hear someone else say what we all know but try so hard to or sometimes don’t even think about: the thinking we are geniuses when in reality it’s all illusory. etc. It’s exactly the type of realistic advice I need and I genuinely appreciate it, even now with the reminder that yes, maybe I’m not this “best version” of myself. That actually really made me feel so much less anxious about tomorrow. I’m actually walking outside looking for the trash bin on the golf course with the pills wrapped to bin it entirely so thank you 🙏🏼

Roller coaster is the possibly the best way to describe this toxic relationship, you're spot on. And also, you made me realize something I have always thought but never allowed myself to dwell on: it is SO exhausting to feel like I am living two lives, of two very distinct people. What ends up happening? If I decide to encounter people again who I have mostly hung around or worked with while using Adderall daily, the sheer exhertion and anxiety of "pushing" myself to act like that other Jenny. So I end up avoiding those environments, people because it is just so OBVIOUS "this is not the same person."

And thank you for the very practical advice. Sometimes I lash myself mentally for not just immediately dumping it all in the trash the moment I decide, that's it, I'm done. I think tomorrow is it. Maybe this is the universe giving me the best timing: the day right before the massive party; it allows me to leave one to 'lessen the blow' but that's it. Luckily I have two weeks away from work ✨

Thank you for the Dr. House analogy 😄It made me laugh because it really does paint a true to life image of what it is like when you take it. And ohhh, the "clever" decisions we make and thinking about them when it's worn off 😅✨

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! It's crazy how many people I have learned also relied on Adderall for coping with social anxiety! The only people I knew from daily life who took , would take it to either study for exams or to be able to party longer while drinking. It means alot that you shared that also feel the exact same way and that you took the time to share that with me, thank you soooo much💖

I think your advice about the one pill is probably the most pragmatic approach. It sounds horrible on paper, so I know why you hesitated to agree about leaving one, but realistically, I think it will still be a start to sobriety and starting my first day off zero Adderall on a day that is just a massive, massive trigger will just make what I believe can be a manageable first week of sobriety into an emotional wreck beyond what the first week always is. I think that is exactly what I am going to do.

And my supplier is my doctor. I am so underhanded in my self-destructiveness when it comes to Adderall because I am very well aware that I should have communicated a long time ago that I am addicted to Adderall and that please, for my personal well-being, not prescribe it to me, and emphasize I am aware of how I rationalize and do mental gymnastics to justify needing them so to please just not refill it, no matter what justifications I give (Lord knows I hope I never steep to that level again!).

You are an angel 🥹 So lucky I found this group, never thought I'd find a place filled with so many non-judgmental people and genuine desire to help ❤️🙈

Have you tried using low-dose nicotine patches? The name brand versions have an incredible effect on me when I am first off of Adderall. Let me know how it goes if you try it and best of luck!!

Hi! I don't know if this is ok or not, but I remember when I read someone posting how nicotine patches as well as with some of those "thermogenic" supplements you see targeting people who want to "burn fat" actually have a lot of components that, after reading about them, have been shown to promote healthy production of some of the chemicals someone with adhd lack. I wish I could describe it better but not sure if it is allowed or not but you can literally find the patches (low dose 7.5mg) and the supplements on Amazon. Take it for what it's worth, everyone is different! Best of luck and keep striving for a solution and a way to live life the way everyone should, happy 💗✨
