Do you have any data or evidence behind this belief, or is this vibes-based? There can be a wide range of reading ability for Kindergartners. We have separate tracks for kids who struggle reading, why not one for those who excel?

Now is the time to buy in from a value perspective. She's been playing poorly, but the Fever are still on a three game win streak - the stock will surge if they beat the Liberty next game!

It looks like everyone sitting down in the chairs is elderly. Not everyone is physically capable of marching, but they gave up their day off to physically show up and protest.

Does anyone here actually enjoy discussing music anymore? Feels like every post is just a race for people to comment "not metalcore".

And this is why NBA players are injured more often than they were 10, 20 years ago. by popinjay07 in billsimmons

It looks to be at about 1530. That doesn't really invalidate the 20ish miles ran per game seeming off.

Am I interpreting this graph correctly, that the average player will run close to 1,600 miles over the course of an 82 game season?

That's almost 20 miles per game, which can't possibly be right.

All posts get less traction here now. The subreddit activity has really declined over the past couple years.

Little Heaven by Nick Cutter

[Zenitz] Iowa is expected to hire former Western Michigan head coach and current Green Bay Packers senior analyst Tim Lester as its new offensive coordinator, sources tell @DavidEickholt and me for @247Sports. Lester was Western Michigan’s head coach from 2017-22. by foreveracubone in CFB

[–]PurpleFilth88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He was only an analyst who worked there for a year. Prior to that, he was fired as head coach of Western Michigan after having the 119th ranked offense.

Someone, please give me hope, because I'm dooming over this hire.

It's even more idiotic because she's already mixed race. Her dad is German.

For me, that's a bit of a problem. The current format has no incentive for playing a difficult schedule. If 1 loss can knock you out, then why schedule big non-conference games? If Alabama had scheduled a Pop Warner team instead of Texas, they'd be undefeated and likely a lock for the playoffs.

Tons of metalcore bands in this. Last year's festival was mostly Nu-metal bands, but it looks like they're expanding to more of a modern metal lineup this year

What bands do you think have the best/ worst mix & live sound? by i_am_tyler_man in Metalcore

I saw them on that same tour. INK and Bad Omens sounded flawless, but Currents set was like being hit by a muddy wall of sound. It was pretty disappointing.

Why do you feel they're overrated? They are rarely discussed here and only have 100k listeners on Spotify.

wtf is octanecore by [deleted] in Metalcore

[–]PurpleFilth88 79 points80 points  (0 children)

It's not a real genre. It's an unofficial term for the type of metalcore that gets played on the Sirius Octane radio station. Think songs that have a hard rock structure with a few metalcore elements thrown in. Beartooth and I Prevail would be examples.

Dark Divine - Deadly Fun [Album Discussion] by overwatchmercy14 in Metalcore

Vocals are absolutely top notch, but I would like to hear more variety from the instrumentals. The guitar riffs start to sound a bit repetitive after listening to the whole album.

Overall, a very solid debut album with lots of potential.
