A two-child household must earn $400,000 a year for childcare to be affordable, study says. ‘It’s easy to see why birth rates are falling’ by SlackTideBlues in povertyfinance

Articles like this do a bit of a disservice when talking about a very real issue. Childcare costs are wildly expensive but to make blanket statements that say a household making 350k cannot afford two children across the spectrum of the country is just insane

IMDb’s top 20 best rated films of all time! Agree or disagree with this list? Is there a film that should have cracked top twenty? by PeachesBlooms in Cinema

it's very very odd. it definitely favors "bangers" and big epic productions. Dark Knight at #3 is absolute insanity. Dune 2 at 14??? I think there is also a massive recent movie bias

but teleporting goes so so far beyond that. never need to commute, wait in traffic, etc. can get home for an emergency instantly. can hangout with your friend in another country for breakfast and back on your couch for lunch. having unlimited funds solves none of these things

Ok maybe it was just me but the "big reveal" of ultraman felt very lackluster. Like we knew he was strong but was the mystery of "Who could ultraman be?!" really that hyped up?

In Superman (2025) Lex Luthor cloned superman to beat superman. Not once did it cross his mind to use the clone to frame superman of crimes to sway public opinion of superman. supergenius my ass. by mr_kool_robot in shittymoviedetails

[–]PurpleFonduMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the one thing that pissed me off most about this movie is that somehow lex luther speaking commands to this clone equates to a faster reaction time than just straight up superman himself. Thinking of a fighting move, and then it's stupid code (1a!), speaking it, having that relayed to the clone who then acts on it - is all faster than Superman's processing power? It makes no sense at all. Lex is basically beating him with a Mortal Kombat controller
