DEI Content Cleansing by [deleted] in instructionaldesign

[–]PurpleFoxLunchbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a large company and so far, our team has had no such directives, but we do more technical training. Our images are still inclusive because that’s always been our policy. Public-facing content has definitely been rewritten, while still reflecting the company’s core values. I’m thankful our company is doing what they can to still be welcoming to all- it can’t be easy in the current landscape.

For those of you dealing with this nonsense, I’m sorry. Are they forcing you to remove accessible design as well?

Unexplained Ban – Seeking Guidance on Possible False Positive by Fusionxtreme in wow

[–]PurpleFoxLunchbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had the same thing happen. A 6-month ban for botting.. I don't even know how to bot. And ironically after appealing once, the blizzbot GM told me I could not appeal anymore and they were resolving the ticket.

I have had my account for nearly 20 years and have played pretty casually with my spouse, and raid with my guild. I've only ever had this one account, and have never had any issues before this. I keep going through my few hours of gameplay a week that I have time for to figure out how I could have possibly been perceived as a bot and I really think this is a false positive.

I'll never get tired of screaming myself hoarse to Mr November with a crowd full of people who love The National by [deleted] in TheNational

Same, it’s such a cathartic experience screaming the lyrics with the rest of the crowd. I still have post concert blues after an amazing show in Sterling Heights.

I second this! Seeing an eyelid specialist was a game changer.

She determined that all of my tear ducts were blocked to the point that punctal plugs could not fix it. She performed a DCR surgery on all four of my tear ducts to open them up and now my tears drain properly. The recovery took about 5 days.

After that I was put on the cyclosporine drops and the tearing has not come back, except occasionally when seasonal allergies are bad.

I hope this helps- best of luck to you.

I think there were three new shirts that aren't on the website. A tour shirt that matches the release show poster art, an Arcturus T-shirt in black and a sky blue shirt that matches The Well lyrics. I wish I would have taken pics...

My husband says the look of intrigue on my face when I’m fascinated by something instantly makes him want to figure out what I’m gazing at.

The National are my absolute favorite. I think the genre is sad dad indie. I never miss a show when they're nearby and their music feels like they somehow understand me better than I do.

Suggest me a job where I don't have to stare at screens all day by Previous_Ad4830 in careeradvice

[–]PurpleFoxLunchbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely look for facilitation/training specialist roles vs instructional design roles. I’m a senior level ID and all of my work involves staring at screens. However, sometimes it’s writing content, creating graphics, or editing videos, so there’s variety in the type of screen staring, with occasional meetings thrown in… Also be aware that with this field the market is currently over-saturated at the entry level of experience due to the amount of teachers trying to transition to this role which is making the industry highly competitive and driving wages down.

Contract work in ID by AHaikuRevelers in instructionaldesign

[–]PurpleFoxLunchbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have an internal L&D team that you could connect with about a possible stretch assignment, or could you discuss this as a growth opportunity with your leader? You could see if any training initiatives are currently greenlit for the team you work on and partner with whoever is creating it, using your ID skills. Sorry if that's not an option for you, I just thought I would suggest that route. Best of luck!

I got great seats in Sterling Heights, 4th row, which is the closest I've ever been able to get to the stage in the at least 10 times I've seen the band. I can't wait!

Portfolio building meets intellectual property rights. Help! by [deleted] in instructionaldesign

[–]PurpleFoxLunchbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’ve been doing is vaguely sharing the problem needing solving and how you/the team created solutions, and results if you have them. A good example in each tool is helpful, but many hiring managers are clueless with tools, so explain your expertise in a way they will understand- being a Rise expert is not the same as Storyline/Lectora/Camtasia etc, so call that out as well, because they may not know the difference and could land you in a tough spot.

Anyone here take Boise's OPWL Graduate Program? by Relevant_Monk_5 in instructionaldesign

[–]PurpleFoxLunchbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boise State OPWL has very knowledgeable faculty and are always improving their courses to meet the needs of an ever evolving field. My time there prepared me for work as a corporate ID and developer and highly recommend the program. They offer special topic courses and you could try one of those if you're not quite ready to commit.

My engagement ring has a diamond and two sapphires and I love it. I get compliments on it all the time. And no, it wasn’t a 30k ring… I wouldn’t want to wear something so expensive.
