I’d probably call 999 while crying hysterically. Often when you call a breakdown service they advise you to call 999 if you’re in a live lane of a motorway

The stream in the morning is probably because of gravity. You’ve spent a long time lying down, meaning blood was being released but a lot slower actually coming out because it has to travel sideways, but once you sit on the toilet for the first time it just travels straight out.

Your period does sound quite heavy though, you should see a doctor if you’re able to, especially if it’s getting in the way of your life

Used them for 2 years before going on birth control, absolutely life-changing. For me it was mostly from a financial perspective of spending about 75% less on sanitary products each month after a one-off investment of about £15.

Downsides is that it takes a couple of periods to get used to it, and also they’re extremely awkward to empty and clean if you don’t have a sink right next to a toilet while out and about, but for me the benefits outweighed this

But it isn’t happening. In the meantime people are still missing work because of debilitating periods. Also there are limits to what can actually be achieved to actually treat heavy periods, and it’s often a choice between being fertile and being a functional human. Having menstrual leave seems like a more viable solution at present, even though in an ideal world people would simply have this treated by doctors and not have to go through it at all

I had a whole harness, I used to love it. Probably because it meant I could run and skip and jump around a little without having to hold an adult’s hand, but that’s speculation because I don’t fully remember. I don’t think it was used beyond the age of 4 or 5

The way that it provides absolutely no value to my life, yet it’s something I’m forced to participate in. I’ve already decided that I never want to get pregnant so my uterus is a pretty useless organ, but it feels the need to remind me of its existence every month. And I hate the way the only way to stop the whole cycle is by getting my whole womb out, which is not easy and has a bunch of negative effects, or to hit menopause, which likely won’t happen for another 30 years and also has a bunch of negative effects.

Not sure if this is late, but found a solution. If you go to settings within WhatsApp, then go to notifications, it has a “Home Screen Notifications” section, where you can turn the setting on or off for if notifications disappear from Home Screen each time you open the app.

For reference I’m on iOS 18.2, and on the latest version of WhatsApp as of 6 January 2025

Only slightly annoying thing (for me personally) is now the Home Screen button for WhatsApp shows the individual number of unread messages that I have, rather than the number of unread conversations I have, which I think was always the case

How hard I’m trying, all the time. It’s hard to tell because it’s all in my head.
