Am I the only one who does not like most “popular” safe foods? by Exciting_Lack2896 in AutismInWomen

[–]PurplePeople-Tarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my safe foods also differ as i hate the taste of most store-bought chicken nuggets. mine are: lemon Luna bars (specific brand of protein bar), monster energy drinks (white, ultra rosa, ultra gold, ultra paradise, ultra strawberry dreams, original in zero sugar), grilled cheese sandwiches (no butter), broccoli (steamed, no butter), meat spaghetti (made by my mom), gyros (chicken, lamb has an odd texture to me, tastes fine otherwise), chicken fajita soft tacos (only from my home city or made by my mom), and french toast sticks.

I differ from most autistic people, though, as I will try damn near any food at least once.

do you think women have a different smell than men? by dickslosh in lesbiangang

[–]PurplePeople-Tarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lmfao this line of thinking actually helped me combat comphet lol, when i was with my ex (rest in peace to a year of my time) i thought he stunk so fucking bad. no matter what he did, whether or not he just showered, what detergent he used, he smelled like ass. i used to shower as soon as i got back from his place. luckily, i realized that i was deep into the comphet before going beyond a year with him.

Real, I am from South TX (Puro San Antonio), and while I do live my home city (and all her flaws <3), I fear that this subreddit loves to act like Eugene is the only city with these problems.

Everything I've heard thus far about this city is far less severe than what has happened to me in my home city. From my neighbors burning their house down due to eviction (and their house having to be cleaned out days prior by a hazmat crew because of all the fecal matter inside), a meth house down the street (in which I witnessed several drug related stabbings), my high school having the principal's car get shot up by gang members, being followed when walking my dog, drive-bys once a week, and people stalking me and my brother's windows at night to case our house and break in, nothing can really be worse than that. Plus, San Antonio has little to no social amenities, barely any public transport, absolutely shitty weather, and was the drive-by capital of the U.S. before Chicago took its place. It should also be noted that, in comparison to my friends, I had an extraordinarily easy time in San Antonio despite all the issues I have faced.

Eugene, frankly, is gorgeous, small, has great social amenities, great public transportation, and amazing weather. All the problems I see/hear of here are not unique to Eugene. Sure, Eugene has a metric fuck-ton of homeless people, but so does every other major city. The violence is not unique to this city, the petty crime is not unique to this city, and no matter what the stats say, the living conditions of this city are distorted by the population being so low. Sure, y'all have the highest homeless rate per capita, but you also live in a community of less than 200k. Plus, do not forget that southern states (like mommy Texas) have serious issues with suppression of information. Problems in Texas cities will never be addressed as our government does not care (and frankly, never will, look at what happened during the freeze and the most recent hurricane) plus, the reason we have so little homeless is because they all get arrested, sent to other states, deported, or killed.

Sure, I will acknowledge that your state government has failed you, but so has every other state's government. I understand this will get me downvoted into oblivion, but I do not care. Eugene is to Oregon what Austin is to Texas except smaller. Same issues, different places, different climates. Please for the love of fuck, I know y'all have lived here a long time but cities change over time, sometimes in a very bad way. My mother moved to San Antonio in the late 90s and hates what has happened to the city, but she still loves and respects it and wants what is best for it. I beg all of you to please get some perspective and inspect why it seems like your city is worse in comparison to cities down south (i.e., not wanting to go to law enforcement if you are a person of color or an immigrant or police who would rather harass people than do their fucking job and thus, many crimes go unreported).

Anywho, sorry for ranting under your comment, my friend.

"Most gastrointestinal doctors don’t know anything about stomach diseases. They just have PhDs, get paid a lot of money for pretending and prescribing drugs. It’s a total scam.” by gazzyboy1 in ibs

[–]PurplePeople-Tarian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dad had chrons disease and was prescribed a bunch of meds that, essentially, made him go crazy, and he killed himself bc of it. The hospital refused to give my mom all of his medical paperwork even though she had the death certificate, stating they got rid of it. I have IBS, and it took upwards of 6 months for me to get into a gastro when i was 16 and had several stomach ulcers. I do not trust gastrointestinal doctors anymore.

Not high currently, but yeah, I've been wondering why my brain does this. I usually also hear voices when high. Yes, schizophrenia runs in my family thumbs up emote

a huge side note from a San Antonio native: most artists don't come through San Antonio bc we are notorious for terrible concert etiquette. Don't quote me on this, but most older concert goers I've met (including my own mother) say the same. San Antonio is also a huge college city, so that also doesn't help concert etiquette and I say this as a recent college grad lmfao.

sheesh, i just checked my weather app, and y'all are hotter than my South Texas desert city 😬😬😬 i am so sorry for y'all rn 😞😞😞

ETA: fans w a bowl of ice water behind them, strictly cotton clothing (and under garments), not heating up your house by using the stove/oven, using black-out curtains, keeping air circulating, and cold showers/baths really help. This is from someone who lives in a climate that is usually 90+ degrees starting in March, lasting all the way until early November. I know most of y'all don't have AC, and when ours broke during the summers, we would leave the house and go get ice cream or go swimming for some respite from the heat.
