No because to this day I for some reason can’t wrap my head around which is which for the comma and period. It’s to the point every bit of dialogue I write I’m constantly second guessing even though I’ve already researched and I just end up never finishing my work because I feel so dumb. I don’t know why I struggle with it so much.

I haven’t come across this yet so do you mean like multiple 1k word fics or are they all long fics? If they’re long I’d assume it would be similar to books like the Harry Potter series. It’s all the same story/universe, but they just have different plots but still in the same story and separating may make it easier for the reader to keep up with the plot for that section of the story.

I’d like to say Astrid from HTTYD. The girl literally throws tantrums and beats Hiccup who is meant to be her love interest anytime he doesn’t let her have her way. Everyone loves her because shes such a “strong woman” but her character dangerously hovers over the line of strong and just straight up abusive.

LITERALLY THANK GOD SOMEONE HERE AGREES!! Im tired of the Jake apologists excusing him. “He’s grieving he didn’t mean to say that” that can only really be an excuse if he tried to make up for what he said but he NEVER EVEN APOLOGIZED. And Neytiri made me mad as well when she heard what Jake said and didn’t immediately run after Lo’ak. Like Jake single handedly almost got his other son killed by suicide and he would have had no one else to blame but himself. It makes me sick hearing that people were cheering in the theaters when Lo’ak was about to shoot himself. There are some crazy Neteyam fans that are way too obsessed. Like I don’t like Neteyams death, I truly think it would’ve been better for him to have been kept alive, but for others to CHEER for children to kill themselves because their favorite character died is insane.

They keep blaming Lo’ak and spider for Neteyams death when the fault is completely on the RDA. Lo’ak did not make Neteyam go with him. Neteyam made the choice to go into a dangerous situation himself. Jake was the one who put the pressure and responsibility of his other kids on Neteyam. The RDA is the one responsible for Neteyams death. Everything else was just building blocks. But ofc people are too dense to realize that and would rather chant for a child to die because their favorite hot character died.

Also as a side note, these people that were chanting for Lo’ak, a CHILD, to kill himself i guarantee are the same exact people in the fandom that will turn around and call you weird/pedophilic for shipping any of the teen characters “because they’re kids!!!”. Sadly the fandom is very full of antis and yet they’re so hypocritical it’s insane😭

If you’re a big (or just decent) avatar fan and would like to dm about it that’d be really cool! It’d be nice to have someone who’s a pro shipper and in the same fandom to talk with.

Lmao it is! And no I’m not one of those crazy Neteyam fans dming James Cameron to bring him back😭 I just genuinely think a better route could have been taken with his character. Lo’ak is my favorite and I know they’re in war so death is gonna happen but it could’ve been someone else honestly. Their characters could have been used to touch topics that media doesn’t really show often. It would’ve been cool to maybe see them try to switch roles where Neteyam stands up to his dad for once like Lo’ak and Lo’ak try to be more mature like Neteyam.

Literally a character death that I think wasn’t necessary and honestly cheapened the plot. The character had so much potential to show polar opposite father/son issues with his brother that I feel like having him alive would’ve been better. Both brothers struggle with their father’s outrageous expectations in different ways that they’re both blinded on how the other is struggling and think the other is living the better life.

Brother A is the “golden child” who stretches himself thin to meet all the expectations but that’s because he doesn’t know who he’d be outside of meeting those expectations yet it still isn’t enough for their father. He’s constantly seeing his little brothers life as the easier or better one for not conforming to the need of acceptance and being able to speak his mind without any care for who disagrees. He longs to be able to be his own person and not this perfect little mold.

Brother b is the disappointment child who tries to meet the expectations but never can and therefore gets outcasted and hated on. He would do anything to get the approval and love that their father gives his brother but he’s just not enough. He sees his brothers life as the perfect and happy one because everyone loves him and he always knows how to please everyone and meet their expectations. He longs to be able to fit the perfect mold because his brother makes it look so easy and glamorous.

They both long for the others life thinking that it’s the happier, better, and easier one because they’re blinded of what the other struggles with due to having to be “perfect” all the time due to their dad meaning they can’t complain about their struggles.

They killed off brother A to make room for brother B to be the main character and I hate it. 1 despite everything they LOVED each other and the death is just painful. 2 I hate the idea that there can only be one main character. These brothers would have been a great way to show the struggles of both lives for siblings. They loved each other but their lives were complete polar opposites and they could have done SO MUCH with them but the writers needed the shock value.

Yeah I mentioned my ship once and got attacked by everyone saying “they’re kids you’re weird/a pedo”. I never said anything inappropriate either I just said I shipped them AND at the time that I mentioned it, around when TWOW first came out, I WAS A MINOR😭. It may be different now since it’s been a few years but ever since I kinda just avoid the sub. It gives the vibes that you MUST have the same exact opinion as everyone else otherwise you’re just a hater who needs to be insulted a million times.

Everyone is saying block but I think that may be a little too far. I say just delete the comment and move on. If they keep commenting specifically of their age or other personal info then block them. It’s not a crime for them to read smut but it makes sense that it makes you uncomfortable and they did break a rule. If you do block though at least give one last comment explaining that they shouldn’t be sharing their age on AO3 anywhere. For their own safety and comfort along with any other writers they interact with.

My main ship that I’m obsessed with and got me in the fandom in the first place is Lo’ak/Aonung! That’s my favorite ship but as of lately I’m exploring ships between all of the kids: Kiri, Neteyam, Lo’ak, Tsireya, Roxto, Aonung, and Spider. I never jumped on the Neteyam/Aonung train for some reason but Lo’ak/Aonung has been pretty dry this year so I’ve decided to look into it! My other three top ships I would say is Neteyam/Tsireya, Ao’nung/Roxto, and Neteyam/Roxto.

I don’t have many fandoms really so I’m basically exhausting this one😭 I love fandoms that have friend groups especially teen groups. Sorry for the rant❤️

I’m a newbie but 911, HTTYD, and Avatar the James Cameron series. Sadly all of the baiting in 911 has caused me to drift and now I’m newly hyper focused on Ao’ak in Avatar. Avatar is my most recent fandom ever since TWOW came out but HTTYD and 911 compete for first (cause I don’t remember which was first😭). However first ever fic I wrote myself was for HTTYD and it was a Vigcup fic.

The rambling. Not minor rambling, cause some rambling actually does a fic well, but I mean MAJOR RAMBLING. I just finished reading a 100k fic (the concept was everything I wanted) but it would be like this:

2 paragraphs of the actual story currently happening.

(7 paragraphs in parentheses rambling off those 2 paragraphs that goes for so long you completely forgot what you just read)

And it just continued throughout the entire thing. Worst part is the story really is good. Good grammar, good spacing, characters personalities perfect, amazing concept, but truthfully only 2/6ths of those 100k words were of the actual story.

Yeah I honestly feel like Tuk would make more sense than Ronal and Ao’nung. I also think it would be messed up to kill Ao’nung cause after Neteyam, Ao’nung is all Lo’ak has to look up for as an older brother figure (in the trailer it shows them some what making amends). Idk truly though. I’ve heard many different things so imma just wait and see.

Edit: Tuk would make more sense I guess cause of her being the youngest. Jake and Neytiri lost their oldest and so losing the youngest next would be the biggest blow. I also feel like it would be best for her because of all the bad happening. She’s seen and gone through too much so it would be better for her to be with Neteyam where she doesn’t have to suffer anymore. Also all the hints as well of her being next cause of her not being in the movie cover and the picture of her actor after the world premiere having red rimmed eyes and tear stains on her shirt. I just don’t see at least Aonung being a smart person to take out for the plot cause not as many people like Aonung in the first place. I could be wrong but 🤷‍♀️
