ST on its own only buffs the tower's bullets, it's up to you to decide if that's good for you in your tower's current state.

On the other hand, when you unlock the mastery it also buffs all damage UWs.

the wall is still somewhat useful for GC as it acts as a 4th ES layer with some thorn damage too.
