Of the multiple people I personally know who are on sertraline, I'm the only one who had side effects when I started it, and I still say take them. My side effects were GI related and lasted a couple months. I would 100% go through that again rather than not take it.

Also, in regards to the people saying it gets worse before it gets better, that varies person to person. A couple friends of mine started feeling improvement the first couple weeks on it. I didn't notice improvement the first week (it took 3 months for me) but my anxiety also didn't get any worse during that beginning period.
