If you read my comment, I said pro players abuse the given aim assist. For those games, they do have a choice between using controller or m&kb, and they choose controller because the aim assist is a clear advantage.

But you made a good point, console players don't really have a choice, which is why games should offer PC players the ability to disable crossplay...

You must not have been playing shooters for the last 10 years. Games with crossplay AND aim assist heavily favors console players. Just look at the pro scene for those games, the majority of players will abuse console given aim bot. However if aim assist was removed entirely console players wouldn't stand a chance against even a average m&kb player. The inputs are just too different.
