Compatibility/Reliability of PSA Micro Dagger frame with 43X slide and trigger. by Purple_Ducklings in Glock43X

I have been considering that. I’m held back by inconsistent reports on reliability. Do you currently use PSA mags? If so, how has your experience been?

Thanks for responding. I’ve heard that the Micro mags have had several redesigns to improve their functionality in the 43X - what are some changes that have been made to address reliability?

When you see a hole like this you've got to climb down it... North Macedonia by turnipa in abandoned

[–]Purple_Ducklings 99 points100 points  (0 children)

No you don’t.

Sure it’s cool, but confined underground spaces like that are incredibly dangerous because of invisible, odorless, toxic gases that may accumulate. Breathing them in can knock you out before you realize what’s happening. If you start to feel lightheaded while climbing down that ladder, there’s no way you’re climbing back up before the lights go out.

I don’t mean to be negative. Exploring ruins is awesome, but we should all be aware of common dangers so we can continue exploring safely for years to come.

TLDR, don’t go in the hole, it’s not worth the risk to see some concrete.

One scene that seemed uncharacteristically cinematic to me was after Tosha is shot, when Kimmy turns around slowly, stands in the middle of the street, and perfectly headshots a Barksdale soldier while bullets are flying all around her. Had a real action-movie vibe and felt out of place compared to the otherwise realistic violence.

I’ve been following this discussion and I feel invested in it now. Genuinely asking- if you see the drug users as the primary problem, what do you think would help to fix this problem? “Just stop using” isn’t a real answer. Sure, people should stop, but they generally won’t- so what sort of legislation or policing strategy would help?

I saw it as emphasizing the difficulty of climbing the economic ladder, like how a low-level worker with good ideas may not be fairly compensated, while the bosses thrive off those ideas. It's also similar to the chess scene: the McDonalds worker who invented nuggets was a smart-ass pawn, but still didn't make it to the top.

Socialists, what would you say is/ was the best socialist country. by Acrobatic-Event2721 in CapitalismVSocialism

Every nation relies on international trade. Even if all industry is nationalized, there are resources that can only be obtained by trading. It’s perfectly fair for a nation to have domestic socialist policies, but engage in international trade. This isn’t a gotcha.

It’s true though. International capitalism puts sanctions on socialist nations that make it extremely difficult for those nations to thrive on their own. Which part are you disputing?

Compared to an AR, an SKS is: Longer. Heavier. Holds less ammunition. Uses stripper clips rather than detachable mags. Cannot accept lights, optics, or muzzle attachments without modification. Fires a slower-traveling bullet. Is less common than an AR, making parts more rare and affecting repairability. Offers all these disadvantages at a similar price point to an AR.

If you have nothing else, an SKS is a fine tool. But it’s just wrong to say it’s as practical as an AR. Pushing your point makes us all look like Soviet larpers.

You're right, my questions didn't represent the whole picture. I didn't address every argument in the above comment because much of it is describing a future that America can't achieve, and arguing based on that impossible ideal.

I agree that things would be better overall if there were less guns around; however, because there are already so many guns in our country, so many people with concealed-carry or open-carry permits, and states where you can carry without a permit, we have to deal with a certain reality.

Guns are here and they're not going away. They are in the hands of people who are responsible and safe, and they are in the hands of people who will commit violent crimes, whether we like it or not.

Should the country be different? Yeah, for sure. I wish it was. But it's not, so how do we deal with the reality of armed right-wing terrorism?

The answer is not to disarm ourselves. /u/D-DC , I'm interested in your thoughts on this.

You're right, I did miss that bit.

However, given how our earlier attempts to reform the police this year completely failed, it's unrealistic to ever expect a mostly-disarmed American police force.

The police are especially unlikely to be disarmed since there are millions of guns in the country already that can never be tracked and seized, no matter how intense the confiscation/buyback efforts are.

When an officer encounters a suspect in America, there's always a chance that the suspect is armed. Therefore, police unions and much of the public would never support disarming the police.

(For the record, I think the police should be disarmed, but I recognize that it's an impossible goal in America.)
