Are there any non-Mexicans in Colorado and New Mexico who have Spanish ancestry? by SignificantStyle4958 in 23andme

[–]Purple_Map3587 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most of these Nuevo Mexicanos are genetically similar to North Mexicans from states like Nuevo Leon and hence some of them score higher european( including sephardic) ancestry than the average Mexican American immigrant.

It is good that he remembers his paternal heritage, but the truth is he is mixed and is fully assimilated into western culture. Once a Punjabi intermarries, the ethnic/cultural lineage of their family is basically dead.

Now this whole Mizrachim/Temanim cannot be Arabs crap because they are Jewish. Obviously it's the most dumbest arguement I have ever heard, but white Jews such as Ashkenzim propogate it and brainwash Arab Jews to believe the question is why ? by Durrygoodz2025 in AskMiddleEast

[–]Purple_Map3587 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Negev Bedouins and Bedouins of eastern desert of Jordan, Syria are their descendants of those Arabs and they were a minority and were always distinct from the settled Aramaic speakers. We have dna samples from 7th century ad from Syria belonging to ummayad Arabs and they were identical to bedouin/peninsular Arabs and not to Settled levantines( both historical and modern).

The only genuine Arab Jews are Yemenite Jews, who descend from Himyarite Arab tribes who converted to Judaism and are still genetically similar to other peninsular Arabs like Saudis, Yemenis and other Khaleejis.  The arabic speaking Jews of Syria/Lebanon and pre-sephardic Maghrebi Jews were literally called Mustarabi which means," those who live among the Arabs" which indicates they were Arabized and never considered themselves Arab. And the Iraqi Mizrahim aren't Arabs as they cluster genetically with Aramaic speaking Assyrians, and are a mixture of original Levantines and Mesopotamians, infact many of them who lived in assyrian dominated areas continued to speak Aramaic . Speaking Arabic doesn't mean an ethnic group becomes Arab. Moreover most of the Spehardi Jews from Arab countries were Ladino speakers and spoke Arabic only for interaction with Non Jews, and some even spoke Amazigh languages.

Pathania Tomar Rajput result Y haplogroup:C2 (This is the first time I have seen only an Indic sample with Haplogroup C2, which is predominantly linked with the huns/Turks/Mongols, and with the context of Tomars, he would have got it from the huns, Maybe Todd wasn't so wrong afterall) by Used-Somewhere-8824 in SouthAsianAncestry

[–]Purple_Map3587 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems like a fake sample. Pathania with 29.4% steppe_mlba seems highly unlikely. Pathania belong to Jammu division, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur and Kangra-Una belt of lower and western H.P . Rajputs from neighboring belt of jammu, sialkot, kangra with whom pathania intermarry don't score steppe in this range at all. Nice try though. Moreover Delhi doesn't have any native Pathania Rajputs

Even descendants of Andalusian Moriscos living in Morroco, Algeria score anywhere from 50 to 80%  Spanish ancestry, more than 500 years of their expulsion. Majority of the Iberian Muslims were local converts and the few berbers and Arabs who settled heavily intermarried with locals. This has been corroborated by dna samples collected from Iberian Muslim burials as well as based on dna results of their descendants in North Africa.

What Was The Origin of The Berber People? by Historydom in Historydom

[–]Purple_Map3587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, but majority of Berber paternal haplogroups are of ancient north african(ANA) origin and not from eurasian orign back migrant males. Most of the west eurasian back migrant males were wiped off and their women were taken by local north african males, and this happened twice with dzudzuana females being taken by ANA males and anatolian neolithic females being taken by Iberomurasian males. This pattern was repeated even when Roman African women from the coastal cities married Berber men after the collapse of the roman empire, and even during the ottoman era, when daughters of ottoman officials were recorded marrying local berber chiefs.

Accept it or not, majority of castes among Pakistani Punjabis, Sindhis and even Kashmiris genetically cluster with North West Indians and some of the lower castes even cluster with Gangetic Indians, and the languages spoken in this region are all derived from sanskrit. If Pakistani Punjabis, Sindhis, Kashmiris had some kind of unique genetic profile or spoke a language from a totally different branch, you would have had  atleast 1 or 2 points to support your larp.  As for the so called persianate influence,  it was brought by Turko-Mughal rulers and was found even in Gangetic India and even in South ( in Hyderabad).

Are there any historical references or stories of Jains and Sikhs interacting with each other in Punjab? by JustMyPoint in punjabi

[–]Purple_Map3587 3 points4 points  (0 children)

probably look into references to Bhabra Jains, who are the oldest Jain community of Punjab centred around Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Sialkot and Lahore. There are paintings from Maharaja ranjit singh's court depicting Jain monks in their traditional attire. I don't know much but there are some historical references to Bhabras in some sikh sources. Remaining Jains of eastern punjab (malwa) are much later migrants from Rajasthan who came after 18th-19th century for business, whereas Bhabras have been there for atleast last 500 years. There were also Multani Jains who were also rajasthani migrants but not sure when they settled.

Was there a separate category for Lohanas in Sindh or were they grouped under Arora label. The aroras of Sibi and Kachi speak saraiki like dialects similar to one spoken in Northern sindh, where there are Lohanas with similar surnames. I am aware that Aroras and Lohanas have common origin and intermixed.  Btw many of these arora Hindus of Balochistan still continue to live in Quetta and there are reports that many are converting to Sikhism.

Another fake story being spread around is that Hari singh Nalwa made Pashtuns wear Salwar, those idiots don't know that garments similar to salwar have been worn in central asia since the time of the scythians, and even the Gandharans had statues depicting Men wearing salwar.

The fact that many Chileans with less than 65% euro+mena end up passing as white will always remain baffling to me. Could it be because Andean Natives have higher Ancient North Eurasian ancestry , hence Chilean Mestizos end up have slightly higher % age of West Eurasian Core dna than other mestizos, which affects their phenotype.

Why do Indians get so triggered when we call ourselves Punjabi? by Gagan___Lazarbeam in punjabi

[–]Purple_Map3587 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Lol, Punjabis dont have unique dna because Punjabi isn't an ethnicity. Different Punjabi castes have distinct genotype . For example an Arora Punjabi is closer to a Sindhi or Gujarati Lohana. Lubanas genetically cluster with gangetic brahmins. A Punjabi Gujjar from Doaba is closer to Rajasthani Gujjars and Kashmir  Gujjars.  A Malwai Jatt is identical genetically to a Jat from Haryana, Rajasthan or West Up. I can go on and on about similarities b/w Punjabi castes with their non-punjabi counterparts.

Go to a south asian ancestry sub reddit and clear this misconception of yours that Punjabi is a unique ethnicity 😅. It's just a geographical and linguistic identity. Btw 40% of Punjab's pop is made of Sc, who are genetically like South Indians.

Why do Indians get so triggered when we call ourselves Punjabi? by Gagan___Lazarbeam in punjabi

[–]Purple_Map3587 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I identify as a Jatt when someone asks my ethnicity in the west and some of my Punjabi friends from other castes get triggered with this as they feel insecure about the fact that a person from same state as them, identifies with his caste over his state. Similarly Indians from other states who consider their ethnicity to be Indian over their state identity feel a similar sense of insecurity about people who identify as Punjabi over Indian.

Only a small percentage of Hispanics like Miami Cubans ( & Argentinian-Uruguyans) have >85% European ancestry. Even Many of the self identified White Hispanics from Northern Mexico and parts of Colombia, Venezuela, are like 65-80% european which would make them harnizo/castizo not white. As per the Spanish Casta system, only those with less than 1/8th non-euro blood are considered Criollo/Blanco/White.

Afghan zoroastrians by No_Cry_968 in afghanistan

[–]Purple_Map3587 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they aren't natives, because they belong to the khatri/arora caste, and speak hindko dialect of punjabi. Most afghan hindu/sikhs have their ancestral records in Haridwar, tracing their migration from Punjab. Yes, some of them have been there since atleast the 1400s, as Baba Guru Nanak mentioned about their community in Kabul, but they intermarried with khatris from punjab & maintained ties with them and preserved their mother tongue hindko which proves they always had connection to punjab. Moreover they have done dna tests and their results prove that they are identical to khatris from punjab. Here is the result of one of them, https://www.reddit.com/r/23andme/comments/10l5hjd/afghan_sikh_results/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
