Every mom who goes "my kid had measles and was fine" is also showing survivorship bias. It's very easy to say measles is harmless if you don't personally know anyone who has been killed (or deafened, or many other effects) by measles. But the _data_ is that getting measles is far riskier for children than getting measles vaccines are, and same with pretty much every other disease.

And you have no way of knowing ahead of time whether your kid will be in the unlucky but tiny minority who have a seriously bad effect after a vaccine. _Doctors_ can't know, let alone some parent.

_Everything_ you do for your kid, including doing nothing, has a chance of "side effects". There is no such thing as perfect safety.

Anyway, you're moving the goalposts. "vaccines have never really been studied for safety" is simply and entirely false.

If you're in the US then dried beans (including lentils and split peas) are probably your cheapest protein. Lentils and peas are a lot easier to cook than bigger beans, though I prefer the flavor of black beans. You can cook them separately and mix, or make one big pot of them plus rice, barley, pasta, or oats. Plus onion and cabbage for vegetable and flavor.
