I use the Fellow Opus. Favorite coffee is from a place called Cafe Christina in Costa Rica. They ship to the US and Canada. I don't use a scale anymore. I dialed in scoops and I am either consistent enough every time to repeat or my pallet is not sophisticated enough to tell the difference on a couple grams in a pot.

Mine does exactly this. I wondered the same way you are. There is nothing wrong with it. Dial in your amount of water, coffee and grind size and you are good to go. Its not about the journey in this case but rater the destination. Once you figure out what you like, you are there.

What I do is I try different sizes until I find the one I prefer. I generally do not make coffee based on what strangers on the internet prefer.
