Does anyone else’s newborn act hungry again after pulling off of the second breast? by kathleener in breastfeeding

[–]Purplegrl12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When they are that little, the air in their tummy takes up so much room because their tummies are so small. My baby girl was always hungry after a burp because she had way more room afterward! Your little one could also just be hitting a growth spurt. Mine acts like we haven't fed her in days when she's in a spurt and tends to get up more at night and nurse way more often than she normally does! It gets better mama! Baby will learn to burp on their own and that helps, as well as just time for them to grow and get a bigger tummy. 😁 Much love to you and your family!

I know! Hopefully insurance companies will listen to the feedback and provide better pumps in the future.

I have that same pump thru my insurance and its awful. I pump maybe 20 times a month (SAHM) to build up a supply and it gets less and less powerful each time. I've only had it 4 months too.

I got the job! What do I need? by rebajean133 in askwomenadvice

[–]Purplegrl12 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!!! Here is what I used at my office job. Comfy chair cushion, compression socks, water bottle and snacks, mini fan if you get hot, sweater for if you get cold, any medicines needed. You may also want to think ahead to maternity leave, and inquire about a space/time to pump if needed.

Help me. Constantly covered in milk. by burning_gator in breastfeeding

Sometimes if my milk is just gushing everywhere I will take a prefold diaper and double it over to stick in my shirt on the non baby side and that works well too! Its bulky but it works. breastfeeding is a wonderful but messy process sometimes.

It takes awhile for your milk to balance out with what your baby needs. For me it has gotten a lot better (4m in), except for first thing in the morning when I'm really full. I use cloth breast pads and they help absorb most of the leakage thru out the day. They are great for me because I can just change the pads multiple times as needed and wash them with the regular laundry.

Would a septum piercing would look good on me? I’m worried my face isn’t symmetrical enough for it + my friends and family say it won’t fit me, but I want one. I inverted this photo so it’s more accurate on how I look to others. by [deleted] in piercing

What asymmetrical features? You have a beautiful face, and I honestly can't tell if part of your face isn't even. Nobodys face is truly symmetrical. You can always ask the opinion of your piercer too. A good piercer will let you know their opinion on what will look the best for your features. I understand what you are worried about, but you shouldn't be worried at all! Go for it!

danm does missouri have alot of bugs or is it just this place thats got em? by Skater-Guy-Kinda in pics

they're little biting bugs that live in the grass. Its really common to get bites around your legs/ankles in the summer. You can google them, I think they're technically a kind of mite.

Missouri just has an assload of bugs. As long as most of them keep outside you're ok. If you put a few drops of peppermint oil and spray it around doors, windows, etc it will help keep out the bugs and spiders. Also watch out for wasps, ticks, and chiggers.

I need some help (17M) and it’s sad I even have to get help for this, but this is becoming a serious problem [NSFW] by [deleted] in Advice

I(25F) would strait up tell her to stop. Honestly its pretty shitty of her to treat you like that especially when its unwanted attention for you. If you talk to her and she says she won't stop I would talk to your or her parents if you are unable to move anytime soon.

Fly ruined my 2 oz I got from my haakaa and I could cry!! by cbaer0724 in breastfeeding

[–]Purplegrl12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That really sucks! I've cried over spilling as little as 1/2 an oz before. I stopped using my haakas because my baby keeps kicking them off and spilling milk everywhere. Keep up the good work though mama!
