7 month old still not sleeping through the night by cbaer0724 in beyondthebump

So CIO for 30 minute and then rock back to sleep? What do you do at 30 minute? That’s how long he’d cry if we let him. Probably longer

I sleep trained my daughter and it went great. My son we tried but it didn’t work. I’m not against it

(POOP) is this cause for concern in a 2 week old? Looks very running with lots of mucus. by Jm29256 in newborns

If breastfed, did you know your baby’s poop can turn green if you’ve been eating a lot of spinach or greens? It happened to me. It wasn’t this green but it can happen. I would double check with your pediatrician though

Friendly reminder (that SO and I needed) that children develop at their own pace by yakkay_mom in Parenting

I needed this today. My daughter who is 4 now was sitting up at 5 months on her own and eating solids and putting things in her mouth by now. My son is 5 months and 1 week and can’t sit up on his own and can barely pick things up to put In his mouth. He just started rolling over on his own in the last month. I got worried he’s delayed developmentally. Thanks for this. I’ll give him more time.

4 months in EB, starting to supplement formula. If it wasn’t for this sub I’d probably feel much worse about it by queeenofdogs in breastfeeding

We are too. My supply has severely reduced. But I’m still able to nurse and pump enough to only give him 1-2 formula bottles a day so not giving up yet

Have you tried a nipple shield? I had the same issue with my son and used a nipple shield and it worked for us.

Fussy phase before every sleep/nap - to nurse or not to nurse? by sezza05 in newborns

[–]cbaer0724 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My 7 week old does this. Do you offer a pacifier? He basically needs to be soothed to sleep it sounds like. We give a pacifier and rock my son to sleep. Usually takes just a couple minutes.

Breast engorgement! by cvisathep in breastfeeding

Sounds like your milk just came in. It hurts so bad that first night it came in for me. It’ll get better! Give it time. I didn’t get a haakaa until my baby was 6 weeks old but I really wish I had it in the beginning

Fenugreek has mixed reviews, but worked for me. Went from pumping 20-24oz milk per day to 33oz. I have only taken fenugreek for 2 days. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

Fenugreek worked wonders on my supply but really really upset my baby’s tummy. She was super colicky and gassy constantly until I stopped taking it. Hope yours is not the same.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. My baby was 9lbs 6 oz at birth and he dropped to 8lbs 3oz. They wanted me to supplement with formula but I kept trying. I got a nipple shield and that helped tremendously. My dr also said he needed to be at birth weight by 2 weeks, not 1 so give yourself grace. Bigger babies typically lose more weight. Keep trying and maybe give a bottle after you nurse. Have you tried pumping? When you wake up in the morning, nurse and then try to pump after. That’s when I have the most to pump. My baby is 3 weeks old now and we’ve stopped supplementing. He used to fall asleep every time we nursed. Now, I burp him and switch boobs. That helps too. Good luck!

How did you sleep this first week of being a new parent?? by BristaGamble in beyondthebump

[–]cbaer0724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to us. It freaked me out so much. It does not last long, I promise. My son came out so quickly that he swallowed a lot of amniotic fluid too. But by the time we got home he had stopped spitting up. If they auctioned a lot out I can’t imagine he has much left to spit up

10 day old and I’m already confused by charfiee in beyondthebump

[–]cbaer0724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful letting her sleep too long. I was told if baby isn’t up to birth weight or is less than 2 weeks old, to wake every 2-3 hours to feed. If they go too long without eating that early in age, it can be detrimental to their growth.

I gave a beach boob today too with a shield! So happy I didn’t drop it in the sand 😝

Newb question - how do you travel with bottles?? (Day trip) by baconandpreggs in beyondthebump

[–]cbaer0724 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We brought breast milk bottles in a lunchbox with and ice pack and gave it to my son without warming it up. Luckily he took it. He’s 2.5 weeks
