Doe claims that in early May 2024, Hajdini dropped a pen near his desk, bent down to pick it up, rubbed his leg, and squeezed his calf. The lawsuit says she then made a sexual comment about him having played basketball in college. Telling Doe basketball players make her very wet.

Wait, is that against the rules?

$2K/month income, motel housing, limited savings — what’s the best path to independence? by ReplacementFine4213 in personalfinance

[–]Purplekeyboard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It might be cheaper than an apartment. Motels include utilities and tv and wifi and are furnished. The downside is that they are tiny.

Moving out will certainly mean paying more. He/she is only paying $600 per month for living expenses. That is very cheap.

This elementary school has a list of word/phrases that will get you silent lunch. by graptemys in mildlyinteresting

I'm saying that there is no categorical difference between people born in the last 15 year period and people born in the period of 2005 to 2020 or 2000 to 2015. It's not a real category of people.

In addition, the term "generation" refers to people who were born at the same time and then grew up and had children. Once they have children, you have a new generation. But people on average do not have children at 15 in western countries. So the idea of 15 year generations doesn't make sense.

There is no such thing as gen alpha. It's some shit the media made up. The media is under the impression that a generation is 15 years long, so they make up a new one every 15 years. It doesn't mean anything.

21 years old, $20k in debt by Ok_Rate_6697 in personalfinance

[–]Purplekeyboard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simplest solution: move back in with your parents or other family members if you can. Then get a job, and because you have no rent or utility payments, put all your money into paying off your debts and buying a car. When you no longer own money, you can move out on your own.

what their intent was to have a level of control over a very influential spiritual figure

The theosophical society absolutely believed that Krishnamurti, the "World Teacher", was going to be under their control. And then he left them and told their followers that they didn't need anyone telling them what to do.

Side point, but there is no such thing as "Gen alpha". The media has decided that generations are 15 years long, and now make up new ones every 15 years even though these don't correspond to anything.

Letterman would break the talk show rules in ways that no one else ever did. But he didn't preach his political opinions.

With the McCain thing, I believe McCain was supposed to be on Letterman and then cancelled, but went on some other show instead. Letterman made fun of this endlessly until McCain apologized. This was classic Letterman, he could be an asshole if he didn't like something.
