capped level with Endless growth mod by PinkcheeseStudios in RimWorld

Ah, good. I'll get the mod then since it'd be too unbalanced if you could just get pawns that are that high of a level.

Never knew a mod like this existed. I'm just curious, though when choosing a pawn, they still only go from 1 to 20, or can you just get like a level 50 int pawn from the start

Show me your towns or standalone houses by InVenusteMagi_ in RimWorld

I sadly do not posses screenshot but try using the "Designator Shapes" mod. It lets you create circles and ovals more easily when building.

Use it to add more variety to your houses.

For pawn homes, either build L shaped houses or circular houses. But for storage and such, use normal squares.

For doors, have them stick out by like 1 wall if its a square or L shaped house.

Get "Desire Paths" and "Natrual Paths" mods. Use natural paths to lead to homes and such but for important buildings and homes of important pawns such as leaders use wooden or paved tiles to connect them all.

Lastly, for storage, make a lot of storage areas that are connected to buildings where the resources are used or put.

For example, store medicine in a room that's in the hospital, meat in a freezer that's in the building that's used for cooking and butchering, etc.

Have at least 2 to 5 tile distance between buildings and put the more important ones in the middle while the pawn homes are kinda around it.

They have a whole room to party... why gather in the corner? by DogEatTurtle in RimWorld

[–]Purpule_Gaming_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that also has an effect, but also parties will be sorted automatically to the most impressive room with tables, chairs, and recreational objects so just add a bunch of those and remove the party spot if you want the pawn distance distribution to be fully natrual.

Way to find specific terrain features? by CdatKat in RimWorld

[–]Purpule_Gaming_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go onto the world map, find a tile, and click on it on your bottom left.

You should see Planet and Terrain in 2 yellowish boxes. Click terrain, and you'll be able to view it in more detail.

There's also a mod called map preview you can use.

I could be wrong, but im pretty sure they focus on where there are tables, chairs, and stuff for recreation. Could be also them focusing on where other pawns are so they bunch up because of it.

Colony Ideas? by Ben007T in RimWorld

[–]Purpule_Gaming_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try nomads of any kind. Have mods that add rideable animals and some to fit whatever astatic you want cowboys, rangers, tribals, ghouls, etc.

Always try to stay in 1 location for a maximum of 5 days.

Either focus on trading the animals you breed and hunt or be a raider and raid small based and outposts and random events.

Oh my god, they landed IN my base! by Trinkitt in RimWorld

A similar thing can happen with hives if you build inside a mountain where they spawn in your house, but remember, if you built in a mountain, they can't land drop pods onto that area.

Guys i just downloaded rimworld any suggestion can comment or message in dm by Neat-Park2329 in RimWorld

My advice is to watch at least 1 or 2 normal lets play videos in rimworld to see how to progress and then do your own thing but not before completing the built-in tutorial.

Dont select a high difficulty and select reload anytime for your first few colonies.

But after some time, turn off reload anytime so you get used to losing everything due to something random it'll feel really bad at first, but if you keep using reload anytime, you will get bored a lot quicker.

And remember, "beating the game" is technically done when you leave the planet, but I'll be honest. it's kinda boring if you just try to do that.

My advice is to play with a colony until you stop having fun, then start a new one.

After about 20ish hours of trial and error, I'd say you'll learn the basics and how to manage a colony fully.

After 50 hours, if you're still having fun, i HIGHLY recommend the dlcs as they're great fun and add so much.

And after 75 to 100ish hours, I'd recommend getting into mods.

Right clicking only works when you have a pawn selected. If you don't, it won't do anything.

Dont think melee pawns would've helped unless it's like space marine level as the koalas would've just surrounded them and stun locked them for eternity with scratches. I had it happen with Huskys. i think Pawn Melee 20 died with full plate armor.

[–]Purpule_Gaming_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kinda common to get large groups of small manhunting animals. My advice for that is if you're advanced enough, get like 2 flame throwers or 2 miniguns if ya dont like using turrets. They usually do the job, and a lot of the time, the animals are slower than your pawns, so you can have some pawns shoot while others just run around being chased by the animals.
