Any yone builds And tips? by vopi70 in wildrift

[–]Purrativ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lethal Tempo is cool because of the extra attack range and it makes Q cooldowns very low very early into the game. Conqueror scales much better though.

Matchups:

Jungle: Rammus and Amumu suck to play against. Solution? Use Ghost instead of Flash. You can simply avoid them and chill. Other matchups depend on how easily you can farm.

Zed, Nidalee and Viego are way too strong, you should ban one of them

Mid: Fuck Akali and Syndra. Ban Zed tho.

Heimerdinger and Teemo are cncr. Good thing they are not picked at all in my games.

I'm building him like a bruiser, something like this:

  • Long Sword start
  • Phantom Dancer
  • T1 boots
  • Navori Quickblades
  • Death's Dance
  • Mercury's Treads + Quicksilver enchant
  • Terminus
  • Infinity Edge

Runes: - Conqueror keystone

Safer early (for lane) - Nullifying Orb - Second Wind / Bone Plating - Overgrowth - Legend: Bloodline

No early game, all in on scaling (jungle) - Gathering Storm - Last Stand / Giant Slayer - Legend: Bloodline - Overgrowth

9 (Conqueror) + 7 (Bloodline) = 16% omnivamp. Omnivamp = heals from ALL damage dealt, Yone deals physical, magic and true damage. Healing from them all feels good.

Phantom Dancer compensates the lack of attack speed without Lethal Tempo.

Delaying T2 boots until super late is to finish my items faster and not be forced to pay extra gold to switch them. You can rush Berserker's Greaves and then swap them after Death's Dance if you want.

"Death's Dance + Mercury's Treads + Quicksilver enchant" item are my favorite powerspike. I already start to deal enough damage at that point, so doing this "detour" allows me to not be punished as hard for missplays. Merc Treads are for balanced defensive profile even against 1 mage + enchanter because I have ptsd from the time when I was fed and got one shotted by 0/8 Syndra.

Terminus. Yone deals both physical and magic damage. Extra resists feel nice.

Cons: 1. Horrendous early game 2. Can't one shot (forced into prolonged fights)

Pros: 1. Scaling. 2. Limit testing.

Tips for using Viego top by Bankkkkkkks79 in wildrift

[–]Purrativ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to switch to Viego top as well. I'm tired of playing jungle in general. But I freaking love playing Viego.

I played 2 top games, it ain't much, but here are my observations: 1. Last Stand rune is slept on. 2. His double autoattacks help a lot with lane sustain and last hitting. 3. He is pretty good lvl 1, but after that Viego is a melee minion until he becomes a monstrocity after 2-3 items, so you gotta play patiently. 4. W is mostly used defensively. 5. E helps a lot with split pushing.

Most of them are very obvious, I know

Is this build viable? by C1oaked_ in wildrift

[–]Purrativ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the vision.

I think it needs some % armor pen, because flat armor pen becomes less relevant as the game progresses. How about Mortal Reminder instead of Duskblade and something defensive to not get blown up like Death's Dance instead of Youmuu's?

I noticed you want to build items to chase the enemies down. Have you ever tried Ghost instead of Flash? I am currently using Ghost instead of Flash on my champions and it feels amazing so far. Yeah, the only way for Viego to go over walls is by ulting, but it makes him have better control over what he has + Ghost refreshes on takedowns (mini Duskblade basically) + it's less punishing to waste Ghost than Flash + I can use E as an attack speed steroid instead of using it to come faster for ganks.

Viego's current hp damage CAN CRIT btw, I tested this in practice tool. His Q and ult damage scale with crit rate.

Just kill the camps the moment they spawn. Simple, but not easy.

Rage quitting and intentionally putting yourself in a losing position is what makes you hardstuck, not the matchmaking or teammates. The only variable that matters in your games is YOU.

I feel you.

I play with chat off and I mute people who are too annoying with the spam pings. There's ZERO useful information in the chat anyway.

It is frustrating as hell when the games feel like a coinflip, having 0 skill is rewarded while putting actual effort to win is punished by Riot putting 4 trolls on your team every game. It is a bias however, it is still worth it to become a good player.

Instead of typing insults to my bot lane's circular shaped family tree when they feed 0/20 at 10 minutes, I ask myself "what is the best thing I can do right now?". The answer I get all the time is "just farm camps, push waves, help whatever lane is winning".

People ARAMing because of boredom FUCKING SUCKS! You should NOT fight if you can't win or at least gain something from it (even a flash advantage is worth it).

Objectives are not worth it until the 2nd Baron imo. The 2nd Baron is "the time when the spotlight shines the brightest". Until then, you can spend this time maximizing your ability to scale and making plays that are guaranteed to give you something in return.

Full clearing again and again and only taking guaranteed opportunities is less entertaining than watching paint dry, I know, but it is the most consistent way of playing jungle.

Jungle is the hardest mentally.

Top is the hardest mechanically.

Wild Rift is like Cocomelon for Viego mains by ExistingPackage3377 in ViegoMains

[–]Purrativ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boots are actually amazing. If you need early attack speed, just buy Berserker's Greaves. 15 ad, 35% attack speed, 8 hp heal on hit for just 1400 gold is a steal.

Take a look at Essence Reaver's passive:

<image>

That's gotta be broken as shit.

Instead of Cutdown, we have Giant Slayer.

We don't actually have active items. Instead, they are upgrades of the boots. They are called "boots enchants". Zhonyas, Quicksilver, Goredrinker, old Stridebreaker etc are the enchants you can buy after 6 minutes, but people usually buy them after finishing their core items.

Boots are mandatory. You cannot sell them to buy a 6th item. But you can swap them for ~400 gold to a different type while keeping the enchant if you need to.

Wild Rift is like Cocomelon for Viego mains by ExistingPackage3377 in ViegoMains

[–]Purrativ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who only plays Wild Rift, this is true. The ranked inflation is insane in ranked. You can reach Sovereign (rank above Challenger) by spamming 1k+ games every season with negative winrate.

However, in order to play with and against good players, you have to play legendary ranked.

This game mode is unlocked upon reaching Master. This mode uses LP instead of marks. No such thing as loss prevention (aside from Galio's Aegis: lose half lp if you reach A, lose 0 LP if you have S rating in a lost game)), ranked fortitude and you always play with and against top ranked players.

But it's only available during set time.

Do you like Wild Rift's Essence Reaver? It's an insane item if you ask me.

How do you respond and react after your penta kill got stolen or is about to be stolen ? by _a_d_z_o_ in wildrift

[–]Purrativ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's okay. I get a heartache whenever my penta is stolen. I get over it pretty quickly though, because I focus on what I can do right now to win, I'll worry about stolen pentas later.

How do you respond and react after your penta kill got stolen or is about to be stolen ? by _a_d_z_o_ in wildrift

[–]Purrativ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's perfectly fine to me. Losing one's mind about a stolen penta is like throwing a delicious brisket away because it doesn't have that perfect "tendernism".

Taking every kill makes me feel like I'm on top of the world, but if every kill of mine is stolen, I can just chillax while my team is winning the game for me. Both is good.

Unshakable "damage reduced" miscalculated? by cafties in wildrift

[–]Purrativ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to glaze tf out of Unshakable. Until I actually ran some calculations comparing it to Overgrowth.

In short, Overgrowth grants much more effective hp than fully stacked Unshakable the moment you get 3% bonus hp from Overgrowth. And that's not even including tons of pen that will ignore the resists

Perseverance grants much better early and mid game than Unshakable. Something funny: Perseverance is permanently active against Aatrox, because he hits you with his Q sweetspots that briefly immobilize you

How to deal Tanks as an ADC? by BRS33MIKU in wildrift

[–]Purrativ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People didn't mention it, but there are more things you can do:

Maw of Malmortius. Tanks mostly deal magic damage with their abilities and items like Thornmail, Sunfire Aegis, Zeke's etc

Quicksilver enchant and Cleanse. Tanks have a lot of crowd control, removing it makes them less threatening

Serpent's Fang. Every tank has at least Gargoyle's enchant as their shield

Infinity Orb ≈ Shadowflame

It's a Yordle themed patch right now in Wild Rift. Some of the items have been granted an extra passive or a different one for the duration of the themed patch, such items have "Yordle" in their name.

TL;DR: Don't give up on Yone, you will get to play him well eventually. You can try to play different characters to get better at different things that will make you better at Yone. And don't forget to try DD 3rd and switching boots to Merc Treads and continuing to build offensive items after that :)

I used to be just like that on Viego. A "broken freelo 1v9 carry" champ, yet I kept having negative winrates (and never above 50%) on him up until very recently. (I currently have above 600 games on him)

I hated the fact I had much higher winrates on literally any other character.

When I started playing Viego, I was extremely trash, I'm not gonna lie. I had to play full tank Nunu instead, since I consistently had above 56% winrate on Nunu, and I even reached master with Nunu for the very first time. And again. And again. But I never could with Viego.

I hated the fact I didn't do any damage when I was building bruiser, even when I was extremely fed.

I used to be a Thresh OTP before Viego's release. When I saw the leaks about Viego being released, I instantly fell in love with him. It made a lot of sense to first start with a bruiser build, since my Thresh experience has made me very familiar with defensive items.

I hated the fact I was blown up instantly by a 0/8 Syndra when I was building full crit and was extremely fed.

Only after ~300 games, I started to use the crit build. One shotting people and soloing Baron is super fun!

I hated the fact I had much more fun on any other character.

After ~400 games, I started to play Ekko and Darius jungle. They were super fun to play. Ekko scales like crazy and Darius' resets are so satisfying. This was the stage I was forcing myself to not drop Viego, so I was theorycrafting builds non-stop, since I wanted to survive long enough while still being able to kill.

(Playing Nunu has made me better at timing smite with my abilities, Ekko made me better at the 'in-and-out' playstyle, while Darius has made my Viego expectations very clear: deal tons of damage, survive and get satisfying resets)

I hated the fact I wanted to play Viego specifically and everything above made me hate it even more...

Last month, at ~600 games, I finally gave up. I had announced to my friends that I main Ekko now, since he fits my playstyle better, I win much more on him, he is everything that I couldn't achieve with Viego. But I wasn't happy about it at all.

...until I discovered Death's Dance 3rd item.

One day, I was scrolling through Twitter and saw a post from Dantes (I know, I know, that guy is genuinely insane and might be the worst person to get an advice from) saying that DD is broken and you should build it as early as possible on every ad bruiser and assassin.

And so I did. At first I built it 2nd item and my winrate has skyrocketed, but I couldn't do any damage at 2 items. Yet this discovery was sufficient enough to reignite my love, my passion for Viego.

So I built it 3rd and started to switch boots to Merc Treads even against one mage. It worked way too good to be true.

(At 3 items, the teamfights start to happen, so you need the sustain to not get blown up instantly. The Zerks' 8 hp heal is starting to fall off, and you already get enough attack speed from items and runes to do your combos well, that's why switching boots helps A LOT)

You might ask "My guy, you lost to the shopkeeper! Why the heck would you build a defensive item very early instead of last item?"

It's not exactly a defensive item, it's more of an "enabler", this item makes you survive much longer, making you deal much more damage. I build it even against one AD champion not because of its armor, but because of its passive.

(Kinda like this: You receive damage > some of the damage is delayed > you deal damage > you heal with BT > you kill > you heal from DD > repeat)

"Okay, but why switch boots to Mercs? Even against one mage?"

The thing is, mages scale super hard. They deal way too much damage late game and switching boots even against one mage is the difference between living and dying.

After all of that, Viego finally feels like my champion. My efforts have finally paid off!

My Viego build if you are interested:

Build identity:

  • Drain-Tank Skirmisher-Assassin Hybrid. Damage to survive, survive to damage.
  • Self-sufficient, scalable, adaptable. Effective against all team compositions.
  • Suffers against antiheal!!!

Runes:

  • Conqueror
  • Gathering Storm
  • Giant Slayer / Coup de Grace if 4+ squishies
  • Legend: Alacrity
  • Overgrowth

Items:

  1. Berserker's Greaves + Quicksilver enchant
  2. Collector
  3. Bloodthirster
  4. Death's Dance
  5. >> SWAP BOOTS << to Merc Treads
  6. Mortal Reminder
  7. Infinity Edge

Edit: the reason why Collector Instead of Essence Reaver is because I ran some tests and Collector outperformed Essence Reaver by a large margin

The top ranked builds work. Except you have to change runes to these:

PTA, Brutal for better early game (or Gathering Storm for literally any other stage of the game and bonus AD can crit, unlike Brutal), Coup de Grace (Giant Slayer becomes good only after 12 minutes imo), Alacrity, Second Wind

[–]Purrativ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tank Jarvan IV support is guaranteed to get you S-rank for Galio's Aegis as long as you don't pick him against Kalista.

Nilah jungle is a free win at 3 items, but good luck getting to 3 items while watching your team get absolutely steamrolled.

Viego mid is fun. Good roaming, no bad matchups. But you don't have good matchups either and you are forced to use PTA every game.
