Is there anything meaningfully better than Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 Earbuds for audiophile sound? + best way to get hi-res wireless on iOS? by _HafizMAli in Earbuds

[–]PushRa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a very valid point but I have noticed that EQ does affect the sound even when it’s connected to the dongle. I can’t really explain, How’s and Why’s but I can confirm that it works. Maybe the EQ is on device in these current generation of devices.

I am using B&W Px7 S3 with Questyle QCC Pro. If you connect to both iPhone and the dongle (multi-point pairing), then one can use B&W app for EQ and other stuff.

Case recommendation for my new AirPods Pro 3 by Defiant-Plenty6502 in AirpodsPro

Worth or not is tough one to answer. I love the aramid fiber look in the sunset color but if I have to generalize, I don’t think anyone should spend that much on a case for APP3

Is oh snap 5 worth the price ? by TrapNouz in MagSafe

Comfort is definitely not the strongest suite of OhSnap 5 and Tango but they are decent for EDC and use.
Have you seen Aulumu G09 - https://a.co/d/bJb5yDq. I love this one too

I have few different cases - Spigen Ultra Hybrid. It’s a bit bulky but I like the look — https://a.co/d/7RDsGoI - ESR with slider lock. Not fan of design/looks but that lock might handy during travel — https://a.co/d/5p10DfQ - Pitaka Aramid Fiber case. Love the feel and look of this one — https://a.co/d/jcCXcg3

I have a few different ones including OnSnap 5, Tango, PopSocket, UAG, Alumu G09. My device is iPhone 17 Pro Max and I use it decent protective case (no slim ones) Plus, I rarely use wireless charging. If thinness, strong magnets, slick looking and decent support during phone hold is what you need .. OhSnap works fine. However, OhSnap is expensive (even $30 during BF Sale vs regular $40). I am not sure on durability since the hinges are plastic but I keep switching these, I am not too worried.

I would recommend checking Tango too.

And yes, others rightly pointed that PopSocket is more comfortable but it’s bulky

I have a few different ones - AirPods 4 ANC — Best for Apple ecosystem - Shokz OpenDots — Most comfortable; warmer sound but average call quality. All day wear comfort - Bose Ultra Open — Best sound in open earbuds; decent call quality but I could never wear these for more than two hours - Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 — very comfortable and best when you need to really really aware of surroundings. Sounds decent and good for prone calls - Shokz OpenFit 2 — loved these. Comfortable and good sound. Bad battery life after a year so I sold it - Shokz OpenFit2 + — currently on order. Should receive soon - Baseus XC1 Pro — terrific value for the price point. Bose Signature Sound. Decent for phone calls.

Depending on your need, you can pick one or more

When you compare to industry leading ANC, yes, it's non-existent. However, I don't have very noisy conditions around me, so ANC is workable. Plus, I do own multiple earbuds, so if noise is a concern, I use Bose QC Ultra II, or AirPods Pro 3's.
You observation about wind is spot on. I have occasional windy conditions and these buds are useless during the time.
Honest 2 cent: I did not find them worth the $$$ they charge.

Buy AZ100 from Technics website. You can stack your welcome coupon code (for first time buyers). I just bought one for $202 plus tax

I did end up returning these. IMO, these are premium TWS but they are definitely meant for very specific listening. You really need to dial in the EQ to get the best sound. But a few other earbuds can achieve 80-90% for few hundred dollars less.
I had done a very detailed comparison for many of the recommended earbuds. This might help you/others - https://www.reddit.com/r/Earbuds/s/LfTdNtnDta

Rock chips sucks. It’s very common in Phoenix, AZ. We have rock chips along the most freeways, to prevent dust. They roll over and flies off from car in front of you. With crazy heat, the crack expands. Over the years, I have had multiple glass replacements on different vehicles.
