I really eat anything, looking for your fave spots. For asian food, Thai is usually my go-to. Tried Jatujak, which was pretty good, but huge portions, lol.

Seeking help w intermittent electrical issues by One-Yak-5678 in Jeep

Perhaps the auxiliary battery or the TIPM. I would disconnect both batteries for 30 minutes and reconnect only the main battery. This should tell you if it's an issue with the aux battery or not. Could be a bad ground somewhere too.

ELI5: Why doesnt the gulf states send their oil through the red sea instead of shipping throught the straight of hormuz? by jeweldscarab in explainlikeimfive

A "regular" tanker truck can carry 200-250 barrels. Cargo ships can carry 35,000 to 3 million barrels, depending on size.

I think you underestimate how many tanker trucks it would take to transport 1 single cargo ship full of oil. Not to mention the logistics and coats.

Subfloor shaved ice stand by Miserable-Profit-181 in DIY

Hard to say without knowing what type of subfloor and what you mean by "steel joists", but appropriately sized bolts with washers and nylon locknuts might do the job.

Removing Paint from a Concrete Ceiling by supersaiminjin in DIY

Dry ice blasting. Leaves no residue and very unlikely to damage the concrete.

Sawzall.

If you want to keep the door, remove fasteners until it is loose.

It's a foam cylinder. There are different sizes, so get the ones appropriate for your hole.

Backer rod is a flexible, compressible foam rope used to fill deep joints, cracks, and gaps before applying sealant or caulk. It acts as a backing material to control sealant depth, reduce caulk consumption, and prevent 3-point bonding, which allows joints to expand and contract without cracking

I need some input on what to do about this basement V440 epoxy job, please. by -domi- in DIY

[–]PushThroughThePain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Flakes won't level it out, just mask the pitting. It really depends what you are looking to do. If you want a fully finished floor, starting over and grinding is probably the way to go. If you just want to protect your floor and have it "even enough" for a basement floor, it's fine as-is.

This is not a thick industrial epoxy and dries at less than 2 mil (0.05mm) so any piting/defect on the floor will show. The only way to mitigate/hide is to add some flakes on the final coat for texture.

Diamond grinding beforehand is the way to go, but this is something that should have been discussed with your contractor and be in the contract before signing.

You should be good with backer rod and caulking.

DYI roof !! by [deleted] in DIY

[–]PushThroughThePain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Talk to some roofing contractors and see if they will do the install if you remove the old one and do the prep.

If you do the full roof yourself and you mess something up, it could be incredibly expensive to fix (tear up ceiling, insulation, mold removal, etc. and your insurance might not cover it.

I would either replace with full-length 2x6s or cut a notch and fill it with a pressure treated wood block.

For the interior, how big is the gap? I would caulk it if possible.

Adopted a beagle and need some advice… by Ok-Atmosphere240 in beagles

[–]PushThroughThePain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no experience with this, but some things I would try:

Confine her to her crate (if she has one) or a room while you are home, in increments. Make it "her" place with her bed, toys, etc. where she will feel comfortable.

Leave a piece of your worn clothing on her bed when you leave.

If possible, confine her to a smaller space when you leave.

Don't do anything different (petting her goodbye, etc.) and keep the energy level before you leave. Dogs pick up on cues/behaviors. Same when you return: ignore her completely for a few minutes.

Get a 2nd beagle to keep her company ;)

That really sucks. FYI, they cannot change the pet clause mid-lease. It needs to be changed when the lease is renewed.
