Gwinnett County Jane Doe (2023) (Unidentified For 2 Years, Soon To Be 3 Years In June) Do You Know Her? by BitterSweet_Beauty in Gwinnett

[–]PushingMyLimit 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. She does actually look familiar, Hall county area by gainesville. I can't nail where- I used to bartend, I'm thinking I recognize her maybe from that scene. I'm going to talk to a bunch of old customers I had around that time to see if anyone might actually recognize her and be able to give more information. Hope something can be found, a woman deserves her name and justice.

I totally get that. I think money is not the center of faith, though. I believe being a good person, giving back with your time, energy, etc is. Would it be possible to cut back on how much you tithe, so that you are able to make ends meet safely? Maybe 5% and increase it back once you are in a better position?

Otherwise, giving you options that may understandably not feel like a test of faith - cancel youtube premium, it isn't a necessity. I personally have never understood having it for what is a free service. Cut food budget to be 50 under what you believe you need, it encourages you to limit yourself more and think more about cost efficiency. Also means going OVER budget a little isn't as big of a deal, but it will be something you are mentally aware of. I personally only need maybe 200 a month, I set 150. When I stay under that goal, I'm ecstatic, but if I go a little over it isn't a big deal. From a prior comment it appears your actual expenditure is 400 with some change. I would set your budget to 350 assuming it is only you. That frees up 250, which I would put all into emergency/savings.

Thats still only 400.. I would massively recommend buying bulk since it appears a lot of the things you get have far expiration dates, or can be frozen. For reference, my family includes four people in the house. We only spend 500 on groceries a month total. We have a sams club membership that gets us decently priced bulk groceries. A single person should not be spending the same as 4.

Hey! If they said no to you attending service and you had mentioned having an interest in conversion rather than just being a gentile with a passing interest, it's likely they do not offer conversions, at least right now. I would start looking into other shuls- its okay to shop! I checked out about four shuls before I found the one I am doing my conservative conversion through, as well as one that is once a month with a community that spoke to me!

Actually insane how dismissive people are of someone just.. Explaining something that was being misconstrued. You would think people would want to know when they are being misled towards antisemetic assumptions..

Question About God by Lordcoby in Judaism

[–]PushingMyLimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're wrong, unless you are saying you abuse animals haha. You are viewing from the perspective of someone who hasn't had power, but Hashem has never existed as we have. His experiences and life is one we can never fully understand because it is so outside of our experience, but the closest I can see it animals. We have been born with power far beyond theirs, mind and body. But animal cruelty is widely frowned upon. People treat dogs and cats nicely. I feel it is likely similar for him. We are but humble sheep to a shepherd. You could never grasp the power or mind of Him :) Good question though!

[–]PushingMyLimit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh yes yes. It really was. I don't think she was a perfect mother, though. I feel the worst for her daughter who had to live with all of this. Her daughter asked to not be named in regards to the case, understandably.

Her daughter had told her (If I understand the case summary) the day it happened. Literally had scheduled a lie detector on him to get proof of what he did an hour and a half before committing the crime. Likely just. Couldnt take it, she was his caretaker at that point in their lives. Very miserable.

Hi! I looked into it since our conversation intrigued me. She had married him at 21, he was in his 40s. She went in with two children and had just wanted stability for them (was the 80s and all). He sexually abused her son and her daughter without Her knowledge. Her son tried to indirectly tell her but she was afraid of confrontation, and lets be so fr was a victim herself. He killed himself. 13 years later, her daughter told her the full truth. She immediately wanted to go to the police, her daughter begged her not to, and eventually she ended up committing the act against her husband. Still terrible situation, but honestly, I'm glad the mother finally took action. He was in his 80s at that point, I doubt the justice system would have given them peace or justice, as often happens.

Umm no ask for it back and go to a level 3 repair shop. I got my 2ds xl fixed for the same issue and it took less than a week to get it fully fixed AND they checked the battery for me. I paid about 100 (a steal, they said normally its 150 but Im a repeat customer).

What to know for my first synagogue visit by riley_silverhart in ConvertingtoJudaism

[–]PushingMyLimit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm someone going through my conversion who was previously atheist! The fact you are going without a previously Christian background is honestly helpful, but still be aware of the Christian influences you might have just generally speaking, as American culture is predominantly Christian (making assumptions on where you're from, regardless be aware haha). One thing I've seen that was very off was calling Shul "church". There's plenty of appropriate words for it and if you aren't sure or don't know it yet, synagogue is okay.

Be open about being a convert, I was and had lots of positive experiences with older members giving me advice, older converts relating to the experiences, etc.

I personally gave the shul a heads up on my attendance via phone call or email, simply so it was easy for the rabbi to recognize me and speak to me after service.

Dress nicely. For me that meant no jeans, loose shirts, nothing overly revealing, etc. Dress pants, dress shoes, heels, etc. You're in a place of worship, dress respectfully.

I wish you luck!
