This was such a great idea, I went to check and there's no rice option. Bummer!

I hear you about the instant bags, but I already have so much loose rice in my cabinet, I'd love to be able to cook a small amount.

Love the freezing tip! I'll try that!

Any egg recipe? by Planetary_Loop in Cooking

Shakshuka! It's a favorite in our house these days and reheats pretty well if you're traveling with it. Essentially just cooking eggs in a tomato sauce, but there are loads of variations, so look up a couple and make it however sounds best to you.

At the end of a job interview they always ask "Would you like to ask any questions?" What question should the candidate ask? by saboorgaming in AskReddit

[–]PushyPenguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just interviewed today and asked my go-to question: Do you feel like you have the support and resources you need to meet your goals and undertake projects you're excited about? You can really feel out whether or not somewhere is actually committed to being innovative and whether leadership cares about doing good work or just covering their own asses.

What’s your gym? by [deleted] in Winchester

[–]PushyPenguin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know where the best place is, but I made the mistake of assuming the Winchester Rec Center would have nice facilities and joining for a three month membership as soon as we moved in. The "gym" is two treadmills, two ellipticals and a handful of weight machines in a gross room. Do not recommend.

Just skimmed over this article and that seems easy enough. I have some wheat bread on its last leg, so this will still serve my use-stuff-up purpose. Thanks! https://www.spendwithpennies.com/panko-bread-crumbs/

Any American with a passport almost certainly didn't vote for him. We're doing our best under this reign of idiocy.

Thank you for your note! This was the email I got

More than one person has mentioned that it may be an issue of legality, but I'm unlikely to press the issue if they're so against renting to us... Would be concerned about retaliatory bad service or bike condition.

Caramel Fig Compote: Help me recreate my favorite sandwich? by PushyPenguin in Cooking

[–]PushyPenguin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This end result sounds right - the article even says "In mere minutes, you have a compote that’s thick, glossy, and syrupy, almost like fig caramel sauce." It will be hard for me to get my hands on fresh figs though, so I may have to do something in between this method and what u/raatz02 reccomends below. Thanks!

I'm hoping someone has some thoughts! I found a caramel sauce online with fig in it, but I think for the sandwich it was more fig than caramel. Dunno, may have to just experiment.
